Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Wasn’t agreeing with the tweet at all; just illustrating that Ringo and Washington appear to be having fun sending signals in all sorts of forums/platforms as to where they aren’t really going.
As far as the LOI being binding or not I don’t think we’re going to look to jettison the guy because he got suspended from a HS game for apparently nothing serious. That would look horrible for the future recruiting wise.
We
To my knowledge there isn’t a rescission period for an LOI. It’s legally binding. Evans would have to appeal to the NCAA to be released from his LOI now. Penalty could still be to sit out a year, it’s the NCAA so no telling what would happen.
All of this is a moot point. The LOI is in. In a few weeks he’s expected in Athens. As others have stated, Kirby probably has a support plan exclusively for a couple of our young, but most talented players. Looking forward to seeing them ball out.
Evans enrolling early would be the smartest decision he can make. Get his butt to Athens ASAP
At one time Evans was working towards EE. I haven't heard if that has changed.
At least one media outlet isn’t taking the misdirection bait that some of these recruits are planting
...if only there was a way to track if Evans has been contacted by a coaching staff since the suspension...
My hot take on Evans is that I have no opinion on Evans.
Minds blown.
Still the plan. That’s why he was taking the ACT the other day, or at least an indicator of it.
Thanks. A lot of work there.
Not sure of what optimal numbers are between OL/DL. 3 deep for OL sounds good but they don’t rotate like DL. I think we have 12 DL for next year plus OLBs which makes the line 3-4 deep depending on formation which sounds plenty. More than numbers for DL, I would like more depth at NT/DT unless Netori can step up (forgot him when counting) and another SDE (Jermaine Johnson May fill that role though) for necessary packages.
It is amazing how quickly some of these Volstars changed their tunes today:
Last Night:
This morning:
The NLI is binding on both parties. If Evans opts out he would almost certainly have to sit out a year unless he has a serious valid and provable reason to not enroll. As far as UGA is concerned they would have to count him as a 2020 recruit whether he enrolls or not. They would also risk being sued for compensation if they deny him a scholarship in addition to any penalties imposed by the NCAA
Regarding Evans, I think it's more of a kid behaving badly than a bad kid behaving normally.
I'm sure he's not the only entitled 18 year old who lacks perspective or concern for optics. It doesn't sound like he's stealing cars or picking fights or a borderline school drop out. It feels like he doesn't like his coaches is ready to leave high school behind and lacks a little self control to deal with these types of situations.
College is supposed to help all kids learn how to deal with these situations, not just supremely talented 5 star RBs. He, and we, will be fine, as long as he commits to the G.
Can we move on from this Evans speculation. If he was benched because he didn’t hand over his phone the night before . That speaks more so of the coach and his disregard for basic civil liberty .
Thanks but not really a lot of work as I have the scholarship roster in excel in order of class with filters on each column. I will compile a 2020 one by just deleting the departing players and adding incoming ones. The current summary is:
F5 is DL/OLB and look for 14 DL and 7 OLB. As you see we have/had 21 in 2019 and expect to lose 5 (Seniors minus Rochester), The current signees stand at 4 which is why I think we go for Jackson in the last 4 to be added. I still wonder if Marshall will seek a 6th year given his injury issues the last 2 years. If he comes back and no-one enters the portal I would switch to getting Manning as the 4th target over Jackson.
