classic "covering tracks" response. We'll get a visit, but I'm already preparing myself for Milton to OSU. Will just make it that much sweeter if we can actually pull this off.
Not a bad strategy, driving slow. Milton isn’t a lock. Osu has done a great job and he’s built relationships with guys like Paris & Fields.
All chatter prior to Milton ever getting to UGA was we just needed him to visit. Obviously, we needed more than that. Couple of things I’m confident on:
All that being said, Milton has been and continues to be #1 RB target. I think we will overcome those thoughts that are causing hesitation. I think if it wasn’t for the December shenanigans, we’d already have him. My pick is still with UGA but certainly not a lock.
I don't see it as a CYA at all. It may be a lean towards OSU, but you don't spend 4 days in Athens, schedule an OV for nothing. The Miltons are going to get one of the best recruiting pitches ever when they come to Athens. If you think it's over, you probably also think Chris Milton should hit the gym more often. ;-)
Yea it definitely wouldn't hurt him if he hit the gym every once in a while.

I’m of the belief that you can’t have too many kids like this on the team: high motor, high character and unselfish; teams full of these players can’t help but win.
Staff is prepping to lose 4 OL. We must take 5. You’re absolutely correct, don’t need attention seekers in the trenches. Primary reason why resources and efforts stopped being poured into a few big names higher ranked OL.
I don't know the Miltons other than what I've read. However, from what I read, I kind of hope the OSU is negative recruiting against us. I get the impression that wouldn't sit well with the Miltons. "They're not as good as us" is a loser's mindset compared to "we're the best and here's why." The Miltons seem very much like the "if you want something, work hard for it" type of family and that will ultimate lead them to the more like-minded school in Athens, GA.

I agree to an extent. I think it’s unwise for a school to do it, but the Miltons have been proactively reaching out to families of croots. They’re doing their due diligence and I’d imagine soaking it all in.
Staff will likely focus exclusively on us during the pitch. If there’s ever a Gold Standard for an RB right now it has to be us:
I think UGA has a better sell than OSU for a few reason.
1. I believe Fields and Paris are going hard for this kid and Fields is a hell of a recruiter. But Milton has to see that Fields only has 1 year left if he's as good as advertised. And there really isnt a sure fire backup plan. UGA doesnt have a sure fire thing either but Beck is in Miltons class.
2. OLine... UGA is recruiting OLine better than any school and I can't even think of OSU in the same realm. (Maybe only Bama, OU, and Clemson as far as production).
3. There's already a hot seat in Washington and if Day can perform well the next two years he may get to go to the NFL and coach his former QB.
4. NFL success. OSUs big name is Zeke and he's a big name but Gurley is the second best RB in NFL behind on LeVeon Bell. Not to forget that Sony won a ring and Chubb only started after week 9 to be a serious ROY candidate.
Any update on Milton's actual commitment timeline? Having all the OVs lined up in June seems like it would lead to a summer commitment. Is that what the general consensus is? Also wondering what kind of bearing the season could have on this. There really is a LOT up in the air right now in Columbus. If Fields and/or Day do not prove very successful in year one, does Kendall Milton shy away?
