Does it? All it means is that Dell is continuing his due diligence which is simply smart business. When you make absolutes regarding recruiting, you’d better be real confident. Zero sum game, you’re right or wrong, and folks will let you know when you’re wrong. Some get off on it.
I think it’s a mistake to dismiss Evans and UGA. Because we don’t have all the details, I reserve the right to change my opinion if something major surfaces from that private meeting. Based on what happened in that locker room during half time, I think you’re prematurely dismissing him.

Just like Carson Beck used Florida visit to get an offer from us, maybe Dell is using a Chaney visit to get a commitment from Evans
Maybe, I don’t think so though. Genuine interest in Chaney. Heard his name for a good while now. Probably had cooled somewhat on reaching out and is just picking that back up (just in case). If Chaney isn’t prioritized though, we won’t flip him. Gotta be on him with same intensity as Milton and Evans. I think we could flip Lloyd just doing what we’ve been doing. His commitment to uscjr was shaky before season even started.
My concern with Evans at this point is, is he going to get upset if he’s down the depth chart at UGA? If he’s willing to blow up at coaches for not using him enough, what is he going to do when he is competing for carries with 4 other players just as talented as he is?
it could be Justin Fields all over again, visibly upset because he didn’t play as much as he thought he should.
With all that said I trust the staff, if that’s the guy they want to pair with Milton than, I hope UGA signs him.

I understand that concern. Is the depth chart at NSHS resemblant of UGA’s? He’s the best player and got 10 carries on national TV as the #1 back in country. Safe to say the utilization didn’t make sense?
Logically, something was brewing prior to the game. Coaches want to win and they use their best players to win. The blow up in locker room is a good indicator that whatever was going on wasn’t effectively communicated, leaving me to believe Evans was caught by surprise with his lack of usage. If coaches felt he was getting to big for his britches, you start to work that out in practice. If the game plan was just that bad (unlikely from a state championship staff) that’s another problem. Evans was disciplined week 1 on national TV and here lies the problem imo. The fact that the AD stepped in, is another strong indicator that something was off here.
I tend to believe that won’t be an issue with Kirby going forward. Anyone notice that Herring didn’t play against Vandy but he traveled? I’d wager Herring and Kirby both know why he didn’t play. Herring is getting coached real hard atm but we haven’t heard a peep.
If Evans remains a take, I think he’s going to fall in line. For everyone making the Cox comparisons, Cox was slipping on depth chart and had a bad attitude (that’s why he was punched by Walker). Cox was “arguably” the 4th most talented player at his position this camp. He simply made a biz decision. Very hard for a RB to slip because of talent. There will not be 4 more talented backs if Evans chooses UGA. He’d be the second most talented behind Zeus, and would get reps in 20. He’d be coached hard like everyone else. Just think we’re comparing apples and oranges here.

Me too. There would have to be a lot more than what’s even been rumored about this one Evans incident for me to lose interest.
A 17yr old kid upset he wasn’t used properly in a game his team lost - yeah, that can be forgiven and learned from - teaching moment.
Like Chaz wanted the meatloaf, I want the Evans.
You seem to have some solid inside sources on some of this stuff. A lot of times, coaches and players get into it and then cooler heads prevail. Pretty high testosterone environment. However, sometimes a player is an “Antonio Brown”. (Or the coach is out of control). Best advice seems to be to wait before we jump on any of these stories. E.G. - I bet if you asked Kirby or Landers after their supposed confrontation, the outlook wouldn’t look like it does today....
The number one rated running back in the country was upset about only being used 10 times when his team was loosing on national TV. Sounds to me like he wanted to win. I am not worried about a lack of maturity in a 17 year old male. It is maturity in any 17 year old male that is unusual. The thing that worries me is the lack of blocking he got. I do not know of his line is that bad or if something else is going on.
I agree with SoFL_Dawg about Cox. He was no longer in the running for the two deep Azeez was the clear number one and I am not sure where he ranked with David Marshall, Robert Beal and Adam Anderson. Cox was certainly not the clear leader and we have not even mentioned Nolan Smith or Jermaine Johnson. I think he made the business decision that it was better to start at Florida than to be on the scout team at Georgia. Jaden Hunter made the same decision. I admit much more gracefully.
It wasn't just that he only had 10 carries but the fact North Shore had a big lead and rather than give the ball to the top RB in the country in order to run clock if nothing else, they chose to watch that lead disappear and lose the game. Honestly, I question their maturity as much if not more than I would his...their willingness to sacrifice a game to prove some point in their mind seems petty af.
There is a really good chance that this Evans situation turns out positive for him and hopefully he is still a take for Georgia and he is still interested in Georgia.
But we need to be careful to justify or try to lessen Zach's responsibility in this because of his age, how the coach used him or because we all made mistakes at this age.
Zach screwed up and handled a situation in an entirely inappropriate way. Maybe he was justifiably upset because of the game plan - but that is never the appropriate way to handle things - either as an adult, high school teenager or even a middle schooler.
His head coach is an authority figure, and very successful at what he does. Does not mean he wasn't at some fault as well - but Zach or any other high school athlete is way out of line to react in the manner that he did. There are other ways to handle it.
This does not mean that Zach doesn't deserve another chance, or that he can't rebound from this and come out better on the other side. But it was a huge mistake and deserves red flags.
And shouldn't be down played just because he is a great player and interested in Georgia.
Hopefully Zach learns from this, grows from this and becomes another great RB in a long line of great RBs at Georgia.

Nobody is downplaying it - it is more folks on the opposite end of spectrum overdramatizing it. The blowup with the coaches is a red flag - but that is all it is - it’s not disqualifying. Before UGA takes Evans commitment I have ZERO doubt that Kirby or Dell or both would have a discussion about it and about how it won’t be tolerated at UGA.
Doesn't the AD getting involved suggest that perhaps Evans wasn't totally at fault?
