Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

wow, pretty cool to be able to trace back that far
half my family is fresh off the boat circa 1930s. the other half no one seems to know but most think came over late 1800s
Well, I could get some hate for this... but do hear me out. I enjoy watching Notre Dame play. I don't lose a wink of sleep if they lose. I feel that they play a similar hard nose style of football that UGA plays. I like the traditions in college football and feel they have some pretty unique traditions. I also blame the movie Rudy and the gold helmets. They are often over rated by the media, but I enjoy watching them play.... again, lose no sleep even if they lost every single game.
I also enjoy watching the top matchups of the week. Looking forward to Washington and Auburn (go Washington) .... and Notre Dame vs Michigan in week 1
To qualify my post, when you go back to my great, great grandfather who moved to The Tuscaloosa area, I had 15 other grandparents somewhere who I know little about.
All 4 of my grandparents' last names at birth were British, 2 English, 1 Scot and Welsh, which is the line my name comes from and the GG Gramps who moved to Tuscaloosa.
I'm with you on that. Fond memories of watching ND and Michigan from the 80's. Seemed like the only football on TV back then was ND and B10.
UGA is my first love as a child.
Kennesaw State -- brand new football program at the first school I attended. Didn't have football back then
I'm a Georgia Southern fan, it's our little Bro program.
I attended both schools years ago. Was at gsu during Russell's years. I am told that big cheers erupt at their games now when scores are announced and we're losing. If true that doesn't set well with me
always been a Dawg and a Falcon but I have developed some loyalty to the Jaguars because my dad gets a lot of tickets through work. i also got the chance to meet Jalen Ramsey this year after the Division Round game at a restaurant
I did love when GSU beat Florida a few years ago. And know alot of fans. Dont live far from Statesboro
I’m a Dawg though and through, and there’s no way that would ever change, but I’ve also always pulled for Texas. I think it comes from my love of the state. Since I was a young lad, I’ve always said that it’s the state I’d move to if I were forced out of GA. I absolutely cannot wait to travel to Austin in 10 years.
I did my undergrad at KSU, graduate school at UGA
Kennesaw State University baby! They play Tech in 2021 and I will be there cheering my brains out for an upset. My Owls may give ole coach fishfry the boot if they win.
Last year I loved watching Florida and Tennessee play each other because both teams deserved to lose, which made me feel good in a perverse way, a way normal to all Georgia fans, but I don't suppose that's what you're asking.
I watch a lot of "the best games," but, of course, you don't know which games are going to even be good until you watch them. Still, there are matchups which look promising.
Generally I root for the underdog, and the team behind on the scoreboard. Particularly if I don't care who wins but do care if the game is competitive to its end.
I try hard to cheer on the SEC teams playing decent non-SEC teams, but often have to hold my nose. It's really hard to yell "Go, Gators" and such.
There are matchups where I tend to have a favorite. I favor Ole Miss when they're playing Alabama, but I favor Mississippi State when they're playing Ole Miss.
I like watching Alabama if they have a decent opponent. I watch Colorado State sometimes to keep up with Mike Bobo.
What was the question? Oh, yeah, another team I enjoy watching? Yeah, I like watching Notre Dame lose, and Michigan lose, and Penn State lose, and Ohio State lose, and Pitt lose.
I'm sometimes a Georgia Tech fan when they are playing non-SEC teams. Sometimes. Not always.
That doesn't answer your question very well at all, but, really and truly can you expect a Georgia fan to follow any other team? We already have the best team in the nation to follow and be loyal to. All the rest is just liking football and killing time waiting for the Georgia game or scouting the opposition.
Go, Dawgs!
I recall when they were a dominant DII program. Won in just about every sport -men’s and women’s. Made the jump to DI and not so much success. The school is so huge now. Wonder what’s down the road.
I have always, ALWAYS loved ONLY the Georgia Bulldogs, ever since I was just seven years old back in 1970. I also (these days) like seeing the ESPN, CBS, & FoxSports highlights from all of the other games, or anticipating REALLY GREAT match-ups that happen later throughout the year everywhere, & all over the country. I clearly remember my Daddy telling me about college football back when I was a really young boy growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, "Son, the games you remember are played in November!" GO DAWGS!!!!
