Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

@RxDawg, let me help you understand the reason for your success with Tech girls. The operative phrase is, "consider the alternatives." 🤣
Where the odds are good. But the goods are odd.
I work with a Tech engineer. He claims that they used to come to Athens while we were partying and steal all our girls. I'll have to tell him about your post. I need to show him the " The Dawgs run the state, they always will" post also.😎
It may have been boric acid, assuming such can be placed in bags (presumably, paper). Anything can be hazardous, and the Europeans have their own views of boron compounds. The USA is pretty okay with it.
There is eye wash made with boric acid and borax (sodium borate), so there's that. I put boric acid around the foundation plates (wood against concrete walls) of this house, and under each stove I have purchased. Have dogs and have had no problems.
I would rather have a natural compound of ~ safe character rather than a petroleum based broad spectrum killer as are most commercial pesticides.
NIH has eye issues as temporary and pretty much treats boric acid and its salts as pretty interchangeable as to toxicity.
Texas folks love BBQ
My bride actually used to do that as a teenager here in Chesapeake, VA!
One "drives" cattle on horseback. Ergo, one can use the "drive-up" window on horseback. You go, girls!
Edit: Know what is great after a hard day on the trail? A boric acid eye wash, that's what!
Mine too. She grew up near Fairfax, VA. Funny that northern VA used to be horse country.
I remember cattle right off Rt 50 just west of Fairfax Circle
I think they call those Cattlelacs,
I also noticed those are english hunt seat saddles. In Texas they would tell them to put a real saddle on those horses. That pic is probably from northern VA.
I enjoyed reading all the comments about Texas. A real mixed bag of positive and negative thoughts. If it weren't for the Dallas Cowboys there would probably be more positive comments.
Those of you stationed in El Paso didn't get to see much of what makes Texas great. Although you were just a short drive from the Big Bend - which is awesome.
Those of you stationed in San Antonio did get to experience much of what makes Texas great.
What I love about Texas:
1. People
2. Culture - both the western and Mexican cultures
3. The diversity - from the urban in Dallas to the Western in Fort Worth. From the forests in East Texas- the desert in West Texas - the Gulf in the south - the mountains in far west and the beautiful hill country in central texas.
4. I love the BBQ - but I would rather eat at Sprayberry's BBQ in Newnan.
5. I love the small West Texas towns - especially the local diners that serve great chicken fried steak and cheese enchiladas.
6. Hunting is great. Deer, Turkey, hogs and we still have wild quail.
7. Women are beautiful - but certainly no more beautiful than those Georgia girls.
8. I miss Brunswick stew and grits for breakfast. You can occasionally find grits - but no one has heard of Brunswick stew - and I mean no one!
Texas is awesome. But there is still something special about crossing that Georgia state line on I-20 about 3 times a year or landing at Hartsville - Jackson another 2-3 times that makes me feel I'm really home.
My wife and two kids are 100% Texan. So they don't get that same feeling I get when we are visiting family in Carrollton, Bowden, Newnan, Whitesburg, Cartersville and even Wedowee, AL.
I love Texas - but Georgia sure is a very special place.
@texdawg Your comment made me remember the small eating? places by a highway that had a concrete pad for dancing. They seem to be everywhere in central (San Antonio) Texas. And by small, what I recall is something like a concession stand at a drive in movie place (if that registers) or perhaps a concession stand at kid's baseball field complex. There would be lights on wires to illuminate the area, and picnic tables to eat. Go Dawgs!
My dad always wants Brunswick stew when he comes back to GA. Boiled peanuts too. I like brisket over pork bbq now. Seemed to be some strong feels toward Texas. Was suprising to me
