If y'all are ever in Cabbagetown, Little's food store is a tiny grocery with some 🔥 lunch counter burgers
Farmhaus has a great burger too
The best I've ever had, home or otherwise was a little place whose building was probably once a Polar Cub or something of that sort on the outskirts of Montrose Colorado. It was back when I lived there from 1997 to 2001.
I think it was called New York Burgers. The owner/cook was from NYC but he used local Western Co. grass grazed beef. He had maybe 10 varieties and every one was fantastic.
Whiskey Bar and Farmhaus are great, and don’t forget Sportscenter for a classic burger at a hole in the wall joint.
Best fast-food burger is probably In-n-out, Imo. Best overall I have no idea, love five guys, but guess I've never had a burger that just blew me away.
mark - I was there from 65-70. Don’t recall it. Where was it? I did attend the pitcher house a good bit.
@dawgitimafan I've still never had In-and-Out. Would love to get a chance some day.
The Universal Joint has some pretty good burgers. Think they have 5 or 6 locations now. Steinbeck's is a sister restaurant as is the Brake Pad. One of their signature burgers is called the "Steinbeck" and comes with homemade pimento cheese and jalapenos on it. Pretty tasty...
the Cadillac at pj Clarke's or corner bistro burger are both amaze
salvation burger had a good one buy they closed
also...no love for the rhineheart's burger in Augusta?
I've never had it. Pretty much always get the shrimp po boy. Have heard others say it's great, but I'm not ordering a burger at a seafood place.
that's fair. Although I usually don't order seafood if I don't see the ocean
That's a reasonable policy in a good part of the country, although Inland Seafood does a nice job supplying the Southeast with fresh seafood with overnight trucking operations. You can find fresh, quality fish, shrimp, and oysters all over Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, and many smaller cities.
Wow, you really tested my memory there Don. I had to resort to Google maps. And I couldn't believe it. It's still there. It's on University Drive a couple blocks East of Mill Ave.
I'm sure a lot's changed. But back in the 60's and 70's Arizona was a popular destination for Midwesterners like me.
I had an Econ professor who actually lived there in the 40's and he remembered when Scottsdale Road and University Drive were dirt roads and a 4-way stop.
Good times.
So, no seafood for you in 99% of the world’s cities. 😉 Their shrimp is good, and as Bank said, we’re close to the coast so it’s easy to get fresh.
Ok, so let's make this simple. A fried Crab Cake burger topped with a generous layer of tatar sauce, then shredded lettuce with fried popcorn shrimp on top of that. A healthy smear of cocktail sauce on the bun then smashed down to mouth fitting.......
I'm hungry......
I find when traveling that I'm spoiled seafood wise because of living in coastal GA. Even when down in fl, Ponce Inlet for example, there's no comparison. Maybe I haven't found the right places. Spoiled by the Darien area, St Simon's, and Shellmans Bluff area. Best I've found for just seafood not atmosphere is Speed's at Shellman's. Mobile homes intertwined to be a restaurant. Motto is if your in a hurry go somewhere else. Great tasting seafood nothing fancy especially named dishes
Love the stuffed boiled flounder at Speed’s, the long wait is worth it. Had lunch today at B & J’s Restaurant in Darien, always the best fried shrimp I’ve had in any restaurant.
In my neck of the woods, it's...

I forgot a place on my list. Cow fish, which has sushi and burgers and even sushi burgers.
