I've eaten many a ribeye from this place and I'll agree with you 100%. One of the finest pieces of meat I've ever had anywhere.
went earlier today and picked up two prime ribeyes from Lowes food, both right at 1.25lbs. also picked up some salmon for the fiancee
have the steaks with some kosher salt and sitting on a rack on the fridge, will reverse sear tomorrow on the kamado
@tfk_fanboy The only Lowes Foods I've ever seen was in Winston Salem, NC. I can't remember where you're located. Do they have them in Georgia?
There's a Lowes right outside of Oak Island, NC that we frequent while on vacation each year... great selection of meat!!!
@AnotherDawg I dunno about Georgia. I am in SC and we have a few. I am in the middle of two, which means neither is close. I just happened to be on that side of town and nowhere near our Costco.
I think Winston Salem is they are are headquartered out of, right?
Yes on the Winston Salem HQ. Never seen one in GA. Just couldn't remember where you were. Thx.
This one is home made and still under construction. Has a pizza rack above fire box pipe. Tested and works good. Just have to complete.
perfect day. high 70s, sunny. back yard with the dogs playing, music playing, watching the boy play with his slingshot. glass of eh taylor rye on ice.
spring in the south is hard to beat
have a couple of thick prime steaks for later
come on over for a drink
That's awesome River. I had an uncle who could build anything. Always had different projects going on. Built his own airplane. Built an elevator in his modest two story house when my aunt became disabled and couldn't climb the stairs.
He's long gone now, but I've always admired people who could build stuff. It's people like you that made this country great. Well done sir!
Been smokin' spare ribs since noon today. Found a bottle of Elijah Craig small batch about an hour ago. It's 70 and the sun is peeking through here near God's country, Athens GA. Diamond Dogs already won. Life is good.
That's awesome @riverdawg7905 . My Cookshack went out over the winter. Wouldn't heat, so I looked into a new heating element. Around $125.00 plus shipping, and I'm not even sure it's the heating element. Hate to buy it and find out it's an electrical control problem.
With that said, I've been thinking of ways I could convert the smoke box into a manual smoker. This pic just gave me some good ideas....Thanks!!
Great thread @ghostofuga1
@tfk_fanboy , I’ve had my Kamado Joe for about 5 years now. I’ve got the original Classic. Only question I have for myself is ambI ready to pull the trigger on the Big Joe.. I have the soapstone which is awesome to cook on as well as the Joetiseree which has been fun to try different things on. Got steaks going on tonight , reverse searing them I think tonight!
Got new stainless grates for the grill from Lang. Living good bros and broettes. Did something quick and easy.
Sous vide then sear
Looking good pharm bro. I need to get one to try out for little stuff.
Did a marinade for some chicken thighs and then grilled yesterday. Was really good. I'd use less beer and more sesame oil and soy sauce next time
Kudos to the OP here. That headline is smokin'
Makes me thing of a man who is living his best life.
