Hey man, I respect your opinion if you don't believe that everyone is doing it. However, it seems to me and most others that top prospects across the major college sports are obviously getting paid by everyone who's landing them. "lumping the dawgs with a bunch of cheating lowlifes" is a pretty harsh way of interpreting my statement that everyone including UGA is paying players. Hopefully we can both agree that the system needs to change, however I don't see your perspective that some programs are "cheating lowlifes" while UGA is landing a bunch of awesome guys who are turning down these other offers to play for free at UGA.

recruiting is a bloodsport just like politics...and really any other billion +$ industry.... just because you think your fav program is perfect doesn't make it true..... 2 big 2 fail...it will blow over..... but clemson is laughable to everyone without orange glasses......keep thinking your the shinning beacon of moral goodness ...in a world of kill or be killed...

It's the players that are getting cheated if they're not being paid. 😎😎😎

out of the blue? Edwards is a home-grown GA guy. Crean is a maestro with shooting guard development. (See D-Wade, Oladipo, Ferrel) It’s not out of the blue to stay home and play for your state and get the same developments you could far away.

    Yup, we might. Someday.

....Your response didn’t deny the lying, cheating, sister marrying or chronic body odor though.

Really? You respect my opinion when I don't accept the pronouncements of internet rumormongers whose evidence consists of "everybody knows it's true?"

Whew. I'm glad I was sitting down when I read that.

Geez man, yes I do respect your opinion. Seems like you may not be respecting mine. I’m not here to argue with you but I’ll defend my perspective to you again more clearly.

Its obvious *to me* that “everyone is doing it”. I get that it may not be obvious to you and again I respect that. However, all the info coming out about these top guys (and even some mid-tier guys) getting paid seems to me like a pattern. Obviously if Duke hadn’t paid Zion then he would have gone to Clemson or somewhere that was going to pay him and his family. What are the realistic odds that other guys like Ant Man and other top prospects aren’t getting similar offers? Why wouldn’t they? It just doesn’t make sense for a Clemson or an LSU to offer certain guys money, miss on them, and then just settle without offering others. Sounds like college basketball recruiting is a little bit of a bidding war. Additionally, how likely is it that our magically clean program managed to pull in this guy despite tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars being offered elsewhere? Call me a rumormonger who has no evidence or whatever. In my opinion, it’s obvious that anyone in college basketball who is getting top recruits right now is paying them in some way. Disagree with me and my perspective all you want, I’m gonna end my participation in this thread moving forward because I’ve made my take clear and I’m not interested in internet fights.

Additionally, just to speak on my “out of the blue” comment. I get that he‘s from ga but there was no precedent for this signing despite numerous other top guys coming out of ga every year. If you had asked me if we were going to sign a top overall prospect this year, I would have laughed. That makes this out of the blue imo.
