Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

@SoFL_Dawg curious what value you see in ricks coming to TAMU versus ND, wouldn’t the star power help?
Yes it would. It will be later in the season (UGA/lsu/osu season’s would have progressed and that’s main comp) and since he’s committed to SEC now, I see value in having him OV an all SEC environment. They’ll be less recruits to entertain as well and better load management for Warren/Kirby. Would like to have both Ricks and Joseph OV at TAMU. If they can come on their own dime to ND, even better.
So Joseph is allowed to take OVs to UGA despite already signing in Dec '17? Wasn't sure how that worked.
Not seeing him in this class as of now
a lot can happen in a week. especially in recruiting.
Didn’t even think of that. Good question, I don’t know. @JeffSentell
If he took an OV before he initially signed with Georgia I don’t believe he would be able to because you can only have the one per school, but I could be wrong
Good points, you’ve swayed me. I would want milton at the game with ricks though, so if milton was already planning on ND I would think ricks might want to go with his friend
I can’t recall if he did because he was a flip special. I don’t think he did, but if he can’t, my source believes bama doesn’t have room so we’re in good shape anyway. Not sure if anyone is a process risk that’s committed to them. Other name I heard was Nebraska and I just feel like we’d beat them straight up. They might have early playing time to sell but I think he’d be on two deep behind Cine fairly quickly.
I can see that. 4 DB’s already, 3 of them safeties. As for Nebraska, if I were him I’d be looking to get the hell out of the Midwest.
Nebraska under Frost will be in B1G 10 Championship game every year including 2019. Frost is an offensive version of Kirby IMO. I just mean that in terms of an expert on offensive football, now at alma mater, so probably not going anywhere anytime soon (Don't think he'll be an NFL guy). If Nadab wants to go there I wouldn't blame him. I'd rather have 4 guys with 5 years to play 4 (Ringo/Ricks/Kimber/Conley).
Am I alone in being less excited about the 2019 football season than I am about the 2019 recruiting season (i.e., class of 2020 recruiting)? Which is not to say that I'm not extremely ready for football with high hopes for the year.
I can only ask why?
Yes, yes you are. While recruiting is fun, it's only purpose is to have the players necessary for a good football team and season. This season is something to be very excited about.
Because it's about hope. I'm kind of that way about the NFL Draft too, until the Falcons screw it up every year. It's about the future, hopes and expectations for what we can be for the next 3-4 years with top talent. Every Ringo or Sherman or Burch is a building block to greatness.
Regular season is one game at a time, each win is incrementally enjoyable, but also increases the anxiety of each subsequent game day, because that first loss is devastating. It's something of an all-or-nothing proposition at this point.
But hey, I'm also that **** who gets a big bonus and invests it instead of spending it. I'm all about a brighter future.
Edit: LOL, weird-o gets flagged.
