I love his work ethic and speed. I hope we land him. I keep hearing that we have too many OLBs like him on the roster, but you cannot coach speed and hard work. He is going to be very good.
Could be a hint on whats happening at DB / Safety for the class .....
Jq (@QuriousJa) Tweeted:
Will be committing this Thursday Aug. 15th instead of the 23rd, things weren’t goin as planned 🤷🏾♂️

I haven’t heard of this guy. I’m interested in hearing what you are reading into this tweet.
JaQurious Conley was leaning UGA and was supposed to be the Safety take for this class. If he's committing early and based off the line "not going as planned" I'm guessing UGA told him to hold off. My guess is Ricks is in and we are all in on getting Joesph since he doesn't count against the 25. I have no inside info. This is just based off the information that has been flowing recently.
Thanks. Let’s hope that it’s indeed opening the spot for a silently committed Ricks!
Pretty spot on.
Conley was our “plan B/C” guy at safety. AvWill was number 1 but that recruitment has looked to of turned. Conley was the next in line for that 3rd DB scholly, until Ricks showed interest, so we presumably asked Conley to hold off until we know more on Ricks. Conley wants to get it over with, so enter UNC (although UGA has left that crack open for a flip if the cards before Conley dont fall right).
Preferred DB class:
Kimber
Ringo
Ricks
N Joseph (only counts towards 85 man)
As I indicated earlier I think it's Joseph or nobody at safety. It could just as easily be JqC was told there isn't a spot because we need the spot for a 4th WR or a 6th OL or a 2nd ILB whose talent is superior. JqC is after all rated 243 in the 247 and we are probably in it for 15 top 100 with only 8 spots left assuming JZ takes a blue shirt (7 otherwise).
Jospeh or bust has been going on for a few weeks now.
Also, still dont see a 2nd ILB as we brought in 3 last cycle and 2 before. That scholly would be better severed at DL or OL (WR if its someone different than the current room - Ar Smith)
Anyone heard an update on Z walker? I’ve read that since Cox’s dismissal, he’s been re-prioritized as a need. If true, I could see him as an out of the blue commitment before his season starts.
A few days ago there was a post saying Akinola Ogunbiyi opened his recruiting back up. Has anybody been able to confirm this? And if true is he the 6th OL again?
Conley: Good player. Size and speed. Camped well. Raised his stock. But still wasn't on the top tier at DB. There are a few guys who are. Everyone knows their names here by now.
The first tier at DB all has "The Touch" and realize that when it comes to 'Bama .....then one shall stand and one shall fall.
You can win if you Dare
Potential candidates I have are Flowe, Walker/Dexter, Burton/Jarrett, Paris Johnson. Which year has Kirby failed to "shock the world" in recruiting. All would be a take over JqC.
Id be fine with those, just dont see us taking 2 ILBs in this class.
@JeffSentell What type of odds would you place on Kirby bringing in a 2nd OLB (not DE hybrid like ZWalk) in this class ?
Same for ILB (assuming we take 1 already in Sewell 🤞) what ate the odds for a 2nd ILB ?
Are we really still in it for Flowe, Jarrett and Johnson? Haven't heard anything positive, in regards to recruiting, on those guys in a long time.
I'm pretty sure from the start of this class we didn't even want another OLB, but Sherman was too good to pass up on. I've been told from sources this entire cycle that it is one ILB, no OLB other than Sherman.
Flowe is all CU, I've heard nothing about Rakim Jarret (haven't even asked, don't know if Georgia ever had a good connection here), and for Paris Johnson, from what I've heard he was still deciding because he committed to Urban and Day has really taken over that committment, I would be surprised to see him leave their class.
The best possible board for UGA involves just two LBs for this class. That's Sherman and Sewell. @CZCashvilleDawg I see those as the only two who can push the current abonimations of talent in the Fr./Soph. classes in the ILB/OLB rooms for PT.
If they go down that list, then the whole B.A.P. thinking triggers here. Is the 2nd-best OLB the 30rd-best player on the board? If so, that's not the way this ship has been builit so far. Outside of specialists.
Never believed UGA and Flowe here. Not for a good long while. That young man is going to take the slide everyday at Clemson.
Paris Johnson is not a consideration for this class. Hasn't been since early May. He actually had LSU ahead of UGA in his pecking order, too.
His family is firmly behind his Ohio State decision.
Simple suggestion: Watch "Hedges" every week. You'll know this stuff. Do appreciate the dialogue here, though.
Questions are always welcomed. Always.
I don't expect to get all of those mentioned but:
Flowe is CU (75%) UGA (25%) battle
Jarrett committed on a visit high. When LSU offense is a shambles this year and the Pied Piper is in his ear every practice he may rethink. Burton would be another option at WR
Johnson wanted to come to UGA all along but his family wanted him to stay local. OSU having a less than stellar year will pressure a flip. Their class is also going to be pressed to stay top 5 and they have missed on all the RB that they were pursuing.
