Not a single MLB.com expert even had the Braves winning a wild card spot. I also think picking anyone other than LA to win the NL West was basically indefensible. Yet 8 of their analysts did!
Man, I am pumped for this series to get going..time to return the favor to the Cards and send them home for the year.
I didn't say I predicted it, but I could have let it sit awhile.
Most had us finishing 3rd to the mighty Phillies with either DC or The Mutts finishing 2nd, some had us finishing 4th.
To be fair many if not most Braves fans thought Philly's lineup would be tough to beat. Brian Snitker deserves all the credit in the world. How great is it that he finally reached his goal to be a big league manager in his 60s and he's making the most of it.
Maybe the reasoning is Fried would be the 4th option as a starter and in case of an injury you're allowed to bring up a replacement, so it's not like Julio can't be brought up if a starter is put on the inactive list.
The 1991 season is still by far the most memorable in Braves history, even with the loss in the 7th game of The World Series. I saw a rating of all time playoff games a few years ago, 3 of the top 5 were from the 1991 playoffs, all involved The Braves with That amazing 7th game at #1. It wasn't an article by somebody who covers The Braves either, it was somebody from ESPN, SI or Baseball America.
Still probably best WS of the modern era with dbacks yanks second
I agree. There was tension from the first pitch to the last out.
Make it rain Bravos!
Great 1st inning for Keuchel, very few pitches and little stress on a very hot day. He's getting the weak grounders as well, a very good sign.
It was not smart of Acuna to run in that situation for a lot of reasons. He needs to use better judgement than that.
Freddie would have brought him home with that hit...**** what a waste.
Alright, got the run back on an error...1-0.
I just think he isn’t one of our top 4 starting pitchers, so I he wouldn’t start. And he has never come out of the bullpen so no confidence he can do that. I think humans tomlin were in competition for the spot and tomlin won out.
