Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

If your still evaluating a recruit whose body is changing, certainly it is. That kid grew a lot after his JR year. I’d imagine a lot of top programs were wanting to see senior performance
6'0" freshman, 6'7" sophomore... it happens...
I have posted before - recruiting, even at the highest level, is a crap-shoot. I almost feel like the rankings and stuff is a game/contest independent of its original purpose designed to create an industry (scouting and media) out of thin air to predict which 17 year old boys will become 19 year old men, and which ones will still be boys at 22. Whew.
Too many variables! Pollack was recruited as a FB. Thomas Davis was offered after Van Gorder saw him play basketball. Jasper Sanks? Isaiah Crowell? Trenton Thompson? Not the can't-miss prospects their "stars" would imply.
I am sure ALL these kids can play. Can they be a successful student athlete with the downtown bars at the top of the hill and 15K co-eds walking by? Were they socially promoted in high school, or did they truly learn how to learn?
I think you need a SPARQ rating that included parent's height at weight at age 25, grades, REAL teacher recommendations, attendance records, # of girlfriends per month, parent(s)' level of education, hours spent a week studying, volunteer/service hours per week, candid interviews with high school teammates, average blood-alcohol level at midnight on Fridays, and about 26 other factors. If that was included in these rankings, I think they could give us a more accurate projection... and would still be a crap-shoot.
You’re over analyzing this IMHO.
Crowell is still on an NFL roster. So someone called that one right.
Any good prospects at the game visiting Auburn today who may end up committing to the G?
Yes but will pay dividends for the 21 class. Lots of our targets were there, 2 already Dawgs, all 21. Huge win tonight!
They can’t hang with us anymore haha
@SoFL_Dawg is there any recruits going to Texas that can be flipped or that we would want to flip... they ain’t looking so hot.
Not @SoFL_Dawg but I wondered something along these lines myself. From what I have seen other places, Texas was seen as the chief competition for Mr. Ringo. Personally I think we were already in pristine shape with him. Maybe they're not back just yet.
I’m thinking Bijan Robinson would top that list. His talent is equal to Evans imo and arguably pairs better with Milton. One could make a strong argument Bijan should be the #1 back this cycle. Staff was working to get an OV, but we haven’t made enough progress to do so.
Ethan Pouncey is another I would personally have in front of everyone not named Ringo. That includes Ricks. Grapevine is he’s been vocal about wanting a starting opportunity immediately. No TF is going to UGA and starting at CB now with the talent in that room. You’d have to be generational talent like Stingley. There isn’t a Stingley in this class.
So my direct answer is, not really.
SoFL_Dawg, do you think that Penn. State losing to Ohio State would help Georgia with Theo Johnson?
Stick around DawgNation today. We'll have a read to share on all things Theo.
Should stop and make you think. Kind of feel for that guy at this point.
2020s with UGA ties at Auburn yesterday
2021s at Auburn yesterday
(Have to go through my photo files. Probably a couple more.)
No won’t come down to wins and losses imo, all about production and usage at the position. At PSU he can “see” he how he’ll be used. Here it’s a forecast on how he’ll be used. This year hasn’t been what we expected at the TE position. The sell for us is that we can’t use these guys because of their limited skill sets. We get the TD from Wolf, then the big drop when we’re trying to finish them off. That inconsistency is the sell to DW and TJ imo.
If we pulled Bijan Robinson I'd write a letter to Trump demanding Dell McGee receive a 250k raise.
