Some folks on here simply did not understand what the kid was saying. I know I got a headache trying to translate it. That would be different from poking fun at the mess.

@carnivore Understandable, I’m sure many of the people posting simply couldn’t understand, but there were certainly those “poking fun” as well. My point is that even if you don’t get it, there is no reason to go on about it, you should understand the gist of what he was saying. Talking about it in the way that many were would probably be received as negative by Evans, who doesn’t need any more people talking negatively about him. All I’m trying to say is we should be lifting these guys up, we’re Dawgnation and he’s a Dawg.

I think it’s a rude phone thing. Everything on the **** phones is always so much more important than wherever we are.

My mom is just as bad as Zach Evans with a phone.

To hell with your job , your team, your coaches , your family (in the room) whatever. We all bow to the almighty phone.

If he was actually with his family and they told him to put his phone up - he wouldn’t he’s be too busy communicating with his team / coaches.

It wasn’t a family emergency he had - so I’m not buying it. I can’t wait to see him play , but I’m not giving him a pass or calling it kids being kids. If the rule was hand over the phone he should have handed it over. After handing it over , he could later ask if he could check in with family or - call from another phone ?

For those wondering this message was typed on my phone while I should be doing something else.

@SoFL_Dawg is a pretty good judge of talent......but he doesn't know any more than the coaches know which kids will make it and which kids won't.

If you go through the list of signees over the years you'll see names that didn't live up to the hype.

QB is the big one......lots of highly rated kids that didn't meet expectations.

I know what you really want are names......I'll have to go back and look.

Am I the only one who thinks the “Evans experiment” isn’t going to end well?

    I hope I’m wrong...

  • pocoyopocoyo ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

Probably not the only one but I'd say part of a small minority. Just curious. Why is it an experiment?

  • dawg723dawg723 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

Mostly because his entire recruitment has been fairly dramatic...kind of strange really. Just when we thought all the antics were over, phone gate popped up.

Personally, I was hoping to see more growth in Pickens this season but unfortunately he proved critics right in the last game of the regular season immediately after coming back from a suspension got himself suspended again. (I’m not big on a lot of the excuses offered for his behavior...Not a big fan of the excuses for Evans either in his multiple scenarios)

I’m not sure it inspires much confidence that the staff can make Evans toe the line. Thus, the Evans Experiment is about to begin...will have to wait and see.
