Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Drugs and playing music are what I excel at.
Still trying to figure out this father/husband thing. It's a work in progress.
Well I'm lame...😔
Well......I'll never give marriage advice. I'll just say its hard.......but worth it. The past 27 years of marriage have been the most difficult, most rewarding, most frustrating and greatest times of my life. Couldn't imagine life without her......and there were certainly times in the past I considered giving up on it. Will never consider it again.
My advice on being a father......although you never asked..... never let a day go by without telling your son or daughter that you love them. And hug and kiss them as often as possible.
I don't kiss my 6'5 1/2" 215lb son anymore.....but I hug him every day. And I kiss my 17 year old daughter on her forehead everyday.
I've made a lot of mistakes as a father......but my kids have never gone to bed wondering how their dad feels about them.
Good luck with trying to figure it out. It's worth it.
Let's put about 20-30 lbs on that boy and send him to UGA... I always wanted to play TE, all the recruiters laughed at me when I measured out at 6'1.
I grew up in a house where the words "I love you" were never said. Many times family members would go days without speaking to each other. I made a vow to myself that when I started my own family I would make sure my wife and kids would never doubt how felt. I tell my wife I love her multiple times a day especially in times she's feeling insecure or down. For better or worse has been hard, but I'm a man of my word and I signed up for this. I have been married for just under 5 years, but I couldn't imagine life without her. We have our first child on the way. I will make sure she knows her daddy loves her and how a man should treat his wife.
He's 15 and the weight is coming. The speed is what has to improve.
Awesome stuff
Have you made the move to higher-level trainers yet, or are you letting him take it at his own pace? There are tons of good trainers out there that can really change ability. Expensive as heck though
Yep.....and it's expensive. We use the schools S&C coach. He's really good.
But sending him to a special trainer that works on speed, flexibility, vertical and agility. Lots of bands, heavy balls and speed drills.
He's getting a lot of camp invites. More will probably come as camp dates get set. Many schools haven't set their sumner camp dates yet.
That's awesome, I'm sure you'll be able to brag about him to all of us when the offers start coming in.
I play the guitar a little bit, have been playing as a hobby for about 4 years - am in the process of learning the harmonica to go with it. Acoustic and harmonica just sound perfect together (or atleast a lot better than acoustic and my voice)
Up until about 2 months ago I did some sports writing for a couple of sites on the side. I enjoy studying the X's and O's of the game. I was pretty proud of the stuff I was writing. That was while I was in college and had the time. Have since had to move my focus to the 8-5 job since graduation.
During the summer I fish and golf a lot. Wish I could do both more often.
I'm not a master of anything, but I enjoy playing anything competitive while my body (sort of) still allows me to. I urge all of you to check out spikeball if you've never heard of it. Will leave you sore but it's a pretty fun game.
Nice thread, Tex. - I usually stay on the football side of things on here - but the other day I made my way over to the 5 star chef thread. It was awesome to see what some of y'all do. A thread like this can be refreshing.
Pretty good Bass fisherman.....
Alrighty @GradyDawg85 and @Muffingod . I finally figured out how to download from my wife's shutterfly account... a few examples of my furniture.....
A couple more examples.
I did not turn legs. Bought them from a company in North Carolina.
WOW @texdawg !!! Makes me wish I'd paid more attention in "shop" class in Jr.high.
Custom woodworking. I really love making custom cornhole boards. All hand made and painted.
Good stuff.....and fun game.
Love those tables, especially that first one
I was at one time a traveling musician, I played the bass guitar in a band called Kludder and we were a Hard Rock/Metal band that was played on Project 9-6-1 if you remember that station around the ATL area.
We played all over the South East, opened for bands such as Red Fang, Sevendust, Mastodon and even Alice In Chains.
Me and my band with Aaron from Red Fang after a show one night.
Me with Bill Kelliher from Mastodon.
Me with Brent Hinds from Mastodon.
I have made my own bass from chunks of wood, the one below is made out of mahogany. It took me a solid six months working on this thing everyday after work to complete it.
I do powder coat by trade.... Below is some wheels I refinished for my wife, she likes to hit curbs.....
Love playing poker. I have cashed in 3 WSOP circuit events.
