I'm not sure that Jason Whitlock helps your case, but it's certainly not end of discussion.
LeBron never quit on his team to go play baseball. Just saying...
I don't think MJ had anything else to accomplish at that point. He had no challengers left since he had taken most of them out. Michael retired, didn't quit. LeBron quit in game. A little different story
Pippen would have likely been "Jordan" if Jordan was not around. Chicago was very fortunate to have the NBA's #1 and #2 guy play together for so long.
Such a different game back then. WAAAAAAYYYYYY more physical, no carrying the ball (watch how they dribbled back then compared to now), no traveling (seriously, how many steps does LeBron get?)...
Plus it was much more competitive back then. You had a number of dynasties going on at the same time (Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, Lakers, Jazz...) and every team seemed to have at least one legendary player....and many had several legends.
LeBron's last two years his first time with Cleveland they won 127 games. The two years after he left, they won 40 total.
The last two years before Jordan's first retirement they won 124 games. The two years he was off, they won 102.
LeBron was playing with complete scrubs. Jordan had Eastern finals on their own quality teammates and coach.
No one wants to admit it but Jordan was suspended for a year cause of gambling. For the record I don't care about the gambling. I doubt he was throwing games to make more money. So he played Baseball until the suspension was over. I think he was the best ever.
LeBron dragged that lifeless, rotting carcass that Dan Gilbert called a "roster" to the finals multiple times. I think he needs to be given some credit for that
Perhaps, but LeBron never had to play the Lakers, Celtics or Pistons in their prime.
Whoa?! Never heard that??? Where did you get that from? I thought it was because of his dad’s murder or is that all related?
I have to bite...your definition of better in this case means?
Ill go on record, Lebron is the third best to ever play, but the mental toughness is the great separator from him and MJ. Pure overall skill, Lebron is probably unrivaled.
When it matters most, 4th quarter, playoffs, last 2 mins, scoring the basketball, MJ does this so much better than everyone else; just being so much greater at this alone separates the two.
Disagree highly. Episode 3/4 showed Pippen is incredible actually elite. But he needed MJ to push him. Pippen wasnt the leader MJ was, had that competitive urge that MJ had, Pippen even said, "I was always athletic but seeing MJ weight training made my game evolve." Dont think Pippen coudve been Jordan.
There is a great Youtube video of missed traveling calls in the NBA:
Also all that pouting he did in 94? And seeing Pippen in this doc hasn’t been great for his legacy in my mind
Been a rumor forever. No real “proof” tho. He was definitely a notorious gambler. And you’re right, Lebron is amazing but he doesn’t have the same fire/anger. Probably a better dude to hang out with, but MJ unquestionably the GOAT to me.
where is pistol on your list
