@CharlestowneDawg
I liked that Killers song (who's the model?), and Gaslight Anthem too.
Here's a band I used to listen to a lot. Called Mutemath. I don' think they ever got hugely popular, but I always thought they were really good. Excellent drummer. They always had a bit of a classic rock sound to me, but very progressive as well.
Here's a show of them live. Extremely tight. I so wish I would of gotten to see them in person.
This is an instrumental I always liked.
Saw them at The Tabernacle about 10 years ago.
LOL, I thought you'd get more UVs too. It's a very sexy video, but I really love the vibe and musical composition.
Man, I know I posted the video myself, but I have never seen that live performance by Mutemath. I'm loving it!
My sis went to that same show I believe. She's the one that turned me on to them. I always thought they should of had more commercial success then they did myself.
This was a well known Atlanta band in the late 1980's, probably unknown now. For a time, they were equal to Mr. Crow's Garden on the local scene. Then MCG became the Black Crowes, and things took off from there.
Mary My Hope never made it big, but for one brief shining moment, they were great.
I think the Crowes drummer spent some time with these guys too
King Crimson and Adrian Belew(the guitar player in pink) are amazing. Adrian toured Europe with the talking heads in the early 80's. Video below. His effects work is truly one of a kind.
@RxDawg If you like Mutemath I'm sure you've heard of Maserati, which is an Athens band. Here they're playing Monoliths at the 40 Watt Club.
Recently I was watching an interview with Danny Carey of Tool and he talked about how influenced he was by King Crimson's 'Discipline' album. He was blown away by Bill Buford's drumming and Adrian Belew's unique time signatures.
I remember when this album came out and I loved it. You might recognize who's on bass in the second clip.
Here's a band I'm quite sure many haven't heard of. Sun Domingo. They did a fair amount of touring in the US, and especially Europe which I believe is where this first video was filmed.
Fun fact, the drummer and bass player are old friends of mine. We all grew up and went to school together.
The drummer has actually filled in for many of my own band's shows. He is hand's down the best drummer I personally know, and frankly is better than most I don't know.
The bass player and I used to play together all the time. We entered a talent contest when we were in the 9th grade. We played a dueling piano kind of thing.
This was always my favorite song by them.
I really like the first song. Good stuff.
Here's one of the most prolific song writers in music history - Robert Pollard. It's not unusual for him to release 3 albums in a year, whether it's a solo album or with his band Guided by Voices. He's been producing that much music for more than 25 years. Incredible.
Well, not exactly an unknown, but if you've ever lost a child or a sibling or even a friend who left us before we felt they should, this is a GREAT song! I've lost 2 kids and and brother who was 21 years old, so it's definitely one of my favorites.
One more that I mentioned in another thread, if you google the top 10 songs by TLRB, this one won't be listed.
