I'm all about what would favor The Braves. In this case that isn't at all clear. Either of these teams would be heavy favorites against our Bravos. On paper the Dodgers are scarier, but The Giants' season speaks for itself. As pointed out we would have home field vs The Dodgers by virtue of being division winners vs The Dodgers being a wildcard. We'd be the road team vs The Giants because they are division winners and have by far the better record.
Tip of the cap to Luke Jackson who got yet another hold. He's always had the arm, he now has the confidence to match.
Looks like it is going to be a rematch!
Braves v. Dodgers! Cody Bellinger with the go ahead RBI in the top of the ninth.
And they used Max Shurzer to close out the ninth. Could bode well for the Braves!
Go Braves!
I'll say it again, it's far past time MLB takes decisions out of the bozos hands. The Giants lost the series tonight on a swing that was clearly checked. Every series has many missed calls. The solution is let the machines call balls and strikes and make every call in the field and at bat reviewable.
Now on to The Braves vs Dodgers. By closing out Milwaukee in 4 we get to Start Fried and Anderson in games 1 and 2 at home where both have been better this season. We can then start Morton on the road in game 3 where he's been best this season.
Fried was 7-3 with a 2.94 ERA at home, Anderson was 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA at home. Morton was 8-3 with a 3.06 ERA on the road. All 3 have been lights out in postseason. Anderson has been plain great in postseason. In 5 career starts he's 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA.
I can definitely see how sh!tting on the field might affect the defense. 😂
Bad Dawg..😉
Clearly, I"m guilty of the same thing I've criticized writers for...not editing/proofreading my posts. But it looked good to me when I pushed the button. I did mean "shifting".
It was pretty clear what you meant. I just couldn't resist!
It's been confirmed. As thought Fried will be the game 1 starter, I'd bet a dollar against a dime Anderson will start game 2 in Atlanta and Morton will start game 3 in LA. Barring injury of course. It couldn't set up better for us, but The Dodgers are wicked good.
Good they are and umpires seem to favor them also.
They sure got a break on the series ending call last night.
Agree, but with Scherzer throwing and a 1-2 count (if had not been ruled a swing) I still liked the Dodgers' chances of coming out a winner.
Agreed! Anderson has a little better record at home and Morton can start anywhere!
Go Braves!
FYI over his last 12 starts going back to August 3rd Fried has a 1.35 ERA. He has been as good as any starter in baseball in the 2nd half of the season. His curve has been very good for years, but he has so much late break on it now I think it's the best in baseball.
They don't have the resumes or reps of The Dodgers' top starters yet, but if they throw their best, Fried and Anderson can beat anybody.
Game one is coming up in a few minutes.
GO BRAVES !
First blood baby ! Braves go up 1-0 on a passed ball in the 1st inning.
Now tied top of seventh.
Matzek was masterful! Struck out Trea with two outs and man on third!
Go Braves!
Base running mistake. Gotta make then pay
Whew! Will Smith…….
Go Braves!
Braves win, Braves win, Braves win!
