Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I don't think he's any threat to Ohtani.
The Braves did outscore the Falcons- 21-19. But, then those are just the Falcons.
Well, no sweep, but what an exciting weekend to see the Braves crush the Mets three out of four games!
Historic!
I've seen all I need to see of Chirinos. He's not ready for prime time. I'd rather lose a game with a youngster with potential than see him trotted out there again. Even our bats couldn't save his sorry bu.tt yesterday. 6 runs should be enough to win a gane.
@donniem Yeah that was hard to watch. back-to-back-to-back walks, the last two with the bases loaded. And of the two given up by Chirinos (one by McHugh) one was on five pitches and one was on four pitches. You walk the bases loaded then you walk the next batter on 4 pitches. Trade bait.
Not sure who would want him. Maybe DFA?
Historic, with braves leaving New York and Yankees coming to town made me think of Yogi. I thought I could find a quote referencing "historic". I was not successful but I did enjoy going back in time and reading yogisms.
how about a geographical one? "If you come to a fork in the road, take it".
My favorites:
"Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical."
and…
"I never said most of the things I said."
I doubt there will ever be another one like him.
I love the new rule changes: no more shift, pitch clock, and limit on pick off attempts (2). On a third attempt, if unsuccessful, the base runner is awarded 2nd base. Runs are up, steals are up. They definitely improved the action.
No automatic balls and strikes system yet, which I'm fine with. The umpires miss a few as indicated by that strike zone overlay they show on television, but from my untrained eye, very few. A few strikes called balls, but almost no balls called strikes.
And I just don't want to see authority over balls and strikes turned over to a machine.
Part of the fun growing up with baseball back in the day was getting to boo umpires for "missing" calls. I'd hate to see that part of the game go to a machine.
Used to go to some AA games back in the day. If the ump missed a call I would wait for it to get quiet and then yell.
HEY BLUE......I FOUND YOUR CELL PHONE UP HERE.....YOU'RE MISSING CALLS ON IT TOO!!!!!!!
i like that one. Our old favorite was similar. "Wake up blue. You're missing a good game".
Maybe some of our younger readers will look them up for themselves, always good for a chuckle. His yogisms have overshadowed his immense accomplishments as a hof player.
