- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I do but the link is broken when I try and put it here since it’s a PDF. You’ll need to google “Michael Oher Petition document” and then click this link:
It’ll be under the news tabs at the top saying “Not an official”
Based on feels?
Speaking of scripts, I see a great opportunity for a TV show, centering around 2 attorneys who always argue with each other about almost everything - football, QB's, conservatorships, guardianships, $, Missisippi. BBQ, Bourbon.
Occasionally we might even have a court scene or two.
You left out the family part in the script which a conservatorship does not provide as well as the Tuohys publicly claiming he was adopted and starting an adoption charity. You can also never actually answer why he needed one in the first place.
Thanks.
Not unless you keep saying you love him like a son that’s part of the family
Ignorance is a virtue for some
They literally just said they still love him. I'm sure they consider him part of the family, but maybe not part of the family inheritance. The movie was mostly Hollywood BS based loosely on a true story, embellished to make great drama. That's what Hollywood does with every movie based on a true story. The issue is Mike assumes the family made a boatload of money off the movie and he didn't get anything. That will be very easy to prove. The movie studio is not going to cover for them. Conservatorship, adoption....whatever. The root issue is did the family take advantage of Mike and rip him off? Weird for Mike to wait so long to raise concerns and file a lawsuit.
And no, once a movie idea is purchased for production, outsiders (even people who the movie is about) have very little to say about the script. Once the family sold the rights to the movie, it was owned by the production company and director. That's how it works. The movie was based on a book. Did the book make Mike look like a big oaf?
good points and even if they adopted him there’s no guarantee that their will would’ve left him anything. Even blood kids get left out of wills. They’re worth over $200mm from restaurant ventures according to an article I read. Doesn’t appear they needed his money. The devil will be in the details as both sides get depositions and discovery happens. But agree there should be a good trail of funds from the movie and he should’ve gotten his fair share which can be proven if he did or not. We shall see
Children have to be specifically written out of the will to not receive anything
Yes that is correct. That’s what I’m referring too and have seen it happen
I have as well and it still usually ends up having to be litigated. Keeping him out of the family just prevents the hassle
No the book was actually enjoyable.
But if he’s adopted, that means he’s family and should have all the rights of a family member. And if he’s not in the family maybe they can pay him back the money they got for taking him in. They can still grift off of suckers who believe their side of the story and will be just fine.
You did dodge one. I asked you to provide proof of a quote by any poster here....still waiting.
One more thing that can easily be proven....
"The evidence – documented in profit participation checks and studio accounting statements – is clear: over the years, the Tuohys have given Mr. Oher an equal cut of every penny received from The Blind Side. Even recently, when Mr. Oher started to threaten them about what he would do unless they paid him an eight-figure windfall, and, as part of that shakedown effort refused to cash the small profit checks from the Tuohys, they still deposited Mr. Oher's equal share into a trust account they set up for his son."
I can't find any story or reference to this, either for the screenplay or the script. Where did you read it?
If the Tuohy's are/were opportunistic, then they taught Oher something. He's currently on a promo tour for his new book. The timing for all this publicity couldn't be more beneficial. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that....it is however, worth noting.
But at least he got unlimited Taco Bell, which is nice.
(Sorry, I couldn't resist injecting some levity into the drama of people insulting people they don't know over their interpretations of 2nd hand reports on the lives of other people neither of them knows 🤣 )
