Mike Soroka is the best looking starting pitching prospect in Atl. since the big 3...
Watching him yesterday it's hard to imagine anything other than injury stopping him from becoming elite.
He can do it all and he seems to have excellent poise to boot.
He can go inside, outside, up or down, all with great movement and he has enough pop to make it just about unhittable when he's zoned in.
We've had guys who went through great runs, but none looked like this kid.

It's only one game, but he looks like he might live up to the hype. It's about time that some of our young pitching prospects start showing up and producing at the major league level. Would be great to have a couple more like Soroka.
Soroka, Folty and Gohara should give the team a solid to exceptional top of the order. Gohara has a very heavy fastball/slider combination, the classic power combo.
It was a great sign yesterday with the Braves having the three youngest players in MLB (Alvie's, Alcuna, and Soroka) in their lineup. Braves might not be as good as they were in the glory days but at least they are playing the young guys now and building towards something.
We will never, ever, ever match the otherworldly starting pitching we enjoyed in the Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz era. That means we'll never win 15 straight division titles, but WE MIGHT win more than a single WS.
We're starting to see an elite core emerge.

A little early for the comparison to the Big 3, maybe, but ... dayum! He's a damm good'un.
We need more pitching (starting and relief) if the Baby Braves are gonna continue this run!
He did well. He started giving up some solid shots towards the end.
And it was a mediocre hitting team he was playing against, but he did really well.

Now over a season, maybe 2, could happen.
Career wise there is no comparison to TG and Mad Dog spending 12 years together, they won around 670 games between them. Add in Smoltz and we simply will never see that level of excellence together again.
It matched what he's been doing in the minors, he's the real deal.
Glavine was my idol growing up. I have everything that could be called a "collectible" of him known to man. Maybe all this $hit will be worth something someday.
First Braves game I have enjoyed on the tube in YEARS. I was amped up to see him pitch and he did not disapoint. Still have to find someone to man the hot corner if they will do anything this year.

Braves might be a player for Machado. Got a lot of talent in the minors and the Orioles are going nowhere fast
Another young starting pitcher, Sean Newcomb shut out the Mets for 7 innings tonight, Braves going to be in first place in the east in May for the first time in a long time.
This ump has the biggest strike zone I’ve ever seen.
