I was about to ask for opinions on what effect our performance in the SEC Tournament might have on our seeding and position entering the national tournament. Thankfully, I re-read your post above which gives me some insight in that area.

So we get Oklahoma. Any thoughts on how we matchup or what to look for as we watch this game?

I appreciate your contributions to this thread as I have benefited greatly from them. I look forward to your thoughts on our team going forward.

I’m very excited and can hardly wait to see us play again. GO DAWGS!!!

  • Looks like weather is going to be a factor. Gametime pushed to 530 EDT.

Sooners have a stable of Lefthanders to throw at us and they will. Beating Kentucky gets them in the NCAA tournament.

We won 2 of 3 in Athens with hitting homers leading the way. They match up well and The Dawgs are streaky and over due for a winning streak. Our pitching is good and Quinn will start doesn’t give up many runs or walks.

Would love to see the team get to Omaha. Looks like they have a good shot this year.

Would be nice to see our Dawgs playing on the one stage that really matters in College Baseball. I remember being young and watching the 1990 team. Was thrilling.

  • I’m dubious with our pitching deficiency. But if the bats get hot who knows.

overall I think we have a better staff than last year. Certainly more quality arms out of the bullpen. Lineup is streaky, but comparable to last years. last years team came one win away from Omaha. Good test here with the OU future first rounder to kick off the postseason. Go dawgs

Tied 1 all after 4 vs Oklahoma. Their SP Witherspoon is dealing so far.

  • Been busy all day just now turning on the game. Hoover still being unkind to the Dawgs……

Witherspoon has our number. The lineup has to battle better than this in the post season. Maybe they will do us a favor and take him out after 7.

Witherspoon just made it tough for us today. We lose 3-2, but we get to go back home and host a Regional, and I’m hoping a Super Regional. Hopefully we get hot, stuff the trees, and make it to Omaha.

    GO DAWGS!!!

  • Still going to be a 5 or 6 National seed. 40 wins and #1 RPI gives big advantage and playing at Foley is huge.

Just don't play very well in Hoover, only 3 wins there in last 8 or 9 years

I agree, still a top 8 seed which is the goal. The selection committee won't penalize us for facing a top 10 pick in a single elimination tournament. Tough draw yesterday. Definitely seemed like the whole team wasn't really into it, can't really blame them I guess. Missing Burnett hurts big time against a tough righty, hopefully he's back for the regionals.
