So far Weiss pushing all the right buttons. When platoon players get it done makes manager look like a genius.
That seems to be one of the strengths of this year's club - a very productive bench. I think it is a good sign when you don't really know who and when is going to step up, Everyone seems able to contribute. Yaz last night, but also Dom Smith with 4 hits and young Fuentes out of the pen. It's wild!
Fuentes is only 20 and has a real live arm. Interested to see what his future with the Braves holds. I would imagine at some point they look at him hard for a spot in the rotation.
I'm sure that is the plan. For the time being just work on his stuff and build his confidence up. I'm pretty sure the injury bug will provide starts for him.
Agreed as he has spot started twice this year (I believe) and did fairly well!
Both times he looked much better than his start last year with the club…… so he is definitely working on his stuff!
Off the deck! 1-1 tie is broken!
Three runs in the bottom of the ninth! Yaz with a double and an RBI…Dubon with a two run homer! Leading 4-1!
Now Iglesias up to close the door!
How ‘bout them Braves!
Braves win! Another series win! 12-1-1 in series wins this season!
Iglesias 8-8 in save opportunities!
First team in the majors with 30 wins!
Amazing!
Paul Byrd: “ How do you come to the park and prepare for where you might play?”
Dubon: “I don’t care…. as long as I get to play, I don’t care where I play!”
Nuff said!!!
Somewhere Bobby and Ted are together…..smoking their stogies, clinking their glasses and smiling!
Gets hard to keep heaping on the praise. Not much negative to talk about either. Other than maybe Murphy getting hurt again.
We are past the point of this being some sort of flukey start. 1/4 of the way thru the season now.
Next up Sale, advantage Bravos
Lots of Chicago transplants in ATL. Their fans always show up.
Haven't heard much from them this series. I hate hearing opposing fans cheering in our ballpark.
Don't ever recall having a bench like this one. Whomever Weiss sends out there seems capable of doing the job. They are fun to follow, for sure. I hope Ronald gets back soon and stays healthy. I know that is asking a lot, but….maybe the baseball gods will give us a solid?
