The end of the Phillies game looked like stuff you see in Little League.
Agreed they have to add an arm. I think they have enough in the minors to get a deal done. Guys not necessarily on our radar. Cant remember the guys name but the talking heads on 680 AM are saying there is a guy with the Angels that would be a good pickup and wouldn't cost the bank.
Again I would be surprised if someone isnt added. Maybe an arm in the bullpen too.
The offense isnt going to change much. You have to hang your hat on Acuna coming back and playing well. After that if Olson, Albies, Harris, Dubon, Baldwin, and Acuna are hitting you hope that produces enough. I dont see another bat coming.
But I could be wrong for sure. Like you I see the problem in the rotation as most glaring.
Especially in the post season as you mentioned.
What do you think Murphy's trade value would be, while recovering from injury? I know we owe him serious money, so that would factor in, as well. At this point, I would take a rental, big time pitcher. With all the young arms we have, helping us get through this season and this post season, might take the Bravos to the promised land.
One thing I didnt mention. I think they are hoping to get AJ Smith Shaver back. Maybe spelling his name wrong. He looked like an All Star before he went down. Maybe he can make it back??
It's a good question man I dont know the answer. But like you and most Braves fans I dont want to go into the postseason thinking we got Sale for Game 1 and we will figure it out after that.
That usually doesn't work out well. Because the other teams wont be figuring it out. They will have a solid guy all lined up.
Phillies have Sanchez AND Wheeler. If Sale is our Batman he doesn't have a Robin.

Braves win Phillies Lose. Back to a 4 game lead.
If they could just tack on a few all of a sudden it's real comfortable again.
Marlins imploding lost 8 in a row.
15 in a row for the Red Sox. Finally got beat in the second half of a twin bill.
Jarvis is playing hard. He has earned more playing time.
Maybe this is what was needed a few fresh faces. Notice the bottom of the lineup all of a sudden is producing a little. Bottom 3 or 4 were a black hole there for awhile. That is a killer. A pro pitcher can get around the top half if there is nothing waiting down there.

Remember back when we were neck and neck with San Fran for the NL West division title where we edged them out with 104 wins to their 103? I believe it was 1993….
We had a 19 for 21 win streak that year!

Giants won 103….and missed the playoffs.
'94 of course the WS was canceled with the strike. '95 they had a wild card in place.
'93 was one of the last great races for a division title.
Nothing will ever compare to '91 for me. But '93 comes pretty close.
Braves win another squeaker 6-5 over the Padres and win the series 3 games to one.
Sale goes 6 innings with 11 Ks. Gave up 3 runs in one inning and that was it. Bumped up his ERA a bit but he gets a win.
Braves score all their runs on HRs. Michael Harris, Qzzie, Drake Baldwin and Dom Smith all getting dingers. Smith's was a 3-run shot.
Kind of scary effort by the bullpen but it was good enough for the win. If the Phils can lose one, we'll get a 5 game lead.
It will be 4.5 today. Phils aren't playing I dont think.
