Maybe last night was just a hint of the bats starting to warm-up after a bit of a snooze over the past 2-3 weeks. Folty could have done better. Too many pitches in too few innings. Bullpen still looking ok.

Culberson should be 0-0 with sac fly and a RBI. He should not be penalized because Donaldson didn't get back to first! I realize that it was a double play but not a grounded into DP. Unfair rule with 1 and 3 nobody out.

i mean who cares tbh. He got out, and he wouldn’t have gotten the run in anyway without the weirdness. He should be 0-1

Another win, another series win, this is Bobby Cox 101. Over the last 11 series the team has won 9 of them and tied 2. You have to go back to the series against KC in July for our last series loss.

We’re going to have to keep winning at this pace if we want to win the division, the Nats are playing unbelievable ball. Will be a big 4 game series with them next weekend.

Bats are warming up quite nicely and just in time for the stretch run. We'll see what happens against the Nats - a split of the 4 game series would be cool and a series win unbelievable.

Braves have cut into the Dodgers lead for best record in the National League and 1st seed in the playoffs. Going into today’s games, we are only 4 games back in the loss column. Given the Dodgers outstanding record at home, it would be huge to pass them and get home field advantage for the playoffs.

I may have jinxed us with “ bats are warming up nicely” comment. Hey, WC can you that thing you do which shows if we go .500 from here out what the Nats have to do to pass us? TIA.

The winner of The Eastern division won't back into it. Both Washington and Atlanta are playing as will as any team in MLB over the past month. Hopefully they blink first.

Earlier in the season I posted that if Freddie could just let the ball get a little deeper before he makes contact he'd be a great power hitter. Right now he's doing just that. His swing is a thing of beauty.

If we go 12-12 the rest of the way Washington will have to go 19-8 to tie us for the Eastern Division title.

To go 12-2 over a 14 game span and LOSE a half game in the standings stinks, but imagine being 6 games back, going 12-1 and only gaining a half game.

Exactly, We won't keep this pace up the rest of the way, at least it's highly unlikely. If they have a bit of a bump in the road before we do we can make it near impossible for them to catch us.

Either way The Nationals are going to be tough in the playoffs with 3 starting pitchers who would be at the top of many rotations. We've got pitchers capable of pitching lights out as well, but Scherzer and Strasberg are made for playoff baseball.

Soroka finally got his long overdue and much deserved 11th win today. Braves win, Nationals lose and we're up 6.5 games. The 4 game series against Washington this weekend could sew up the division or really put it back in play. Split and The Braves will be in great shape, lose 3 of 4 and we'll still be in good shape, lose all 4 and it's in play.

I think this is his longest slump. I just have a feeling he’s about ready to come out of it.

That smooth upper cut swing looks great when it makes contact, when it doesn't it looks like he's not making adjustments though.
