I think the kid needs a day or 2 off. He’s played in almost every game this season and his legs have to be tired.
Probably not going to be a popular take here but I think he may be a bit bored. Needs something prime time (like this coming weekend's series) to wake him up. I bet he has a huge series vs. the Nats.
I hope you are right. I can see the point also that he may be tired. He has played in a lot of games and plays with exceptional energy. A day or two off would be fine in my book - either before or after the series with the Nats.
I think he needs some bench time, maybe when we have a big lead he can be pulled.
The Braves have Folty going against Wilmer Font tonight. Font has been lights out the past 5 weeks, he's not been very good on the road overall but Folty has been even worse at home. The team has managed to overcome bad matchups of late so I'm optimistic.
In DC it's The Mets and Degrom against The Nationals and Scherzer, that is a primo game on paper.
That seems like the potential for playoff baseball preview, may have to watch that one if I get it. Thanks for the heads up
I'd love to watch Scherzer vs DeGrom.
It starts at 7:20, I'll find out where it's televised and get back to you. The Braves start at 7:00 so I plan to be switching channels a lot.
It's on MLB network if you're out of market.
Thanks.
My guide doesn't show which regional games are covered, by MLB Network, but I get them all so I'm sure it's in there somewhere. I know Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and Sports New York (SNY) cover it regionally.
The Braves won again but the Nationals scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat The Mets 11-10. The odds must have been huge against that happening. Maybe once a season. Give them credit, they are playing tough as nails. We go into a 4 game series against DC tomorrow night up 6.5 games, 5 in the loss column. As of now if we go 11-11 the rest of the way Washington will have to go 19-6 to tie us. If we split this upcoming season the noose really tightens. If they sweep us though it gets more interesting in a bad way.
Braves off tomorrow. It will be hard for the Mets to recover when they play the Nats again.
Washington will likely come to town 6 back (5 in loss column.)
There are some really bad bullpens in MLB this year. Glad our trading deadline pickups are pitching so good now, we have one of the deepest bullpens in the National League. Nats pen gave up 5 in the ninth, only to be topped by the Mets pen giving up 7 in the bottom of the inning while only recording 1 out. Huge comeback win for the Nats, it should be a great 4 game series coming up.
Hopefully the 3 game series in DC next weekend will be borderline irrelevant. Seems like the scheduler set this up with the Braves having 7 v Nats and 7 v Phillies the next 2 weeks.
