After squandering several opportunities earlier in the game, I was shocked and elated that the Braves rallied with 2 outs in the 9th for the win. Keep it going.
I didn’t like that the closer threw high and tight to Acuña 2 times. I understand the first one, he was upset about Acuña’s homerun trot in game 1, but on ball 4 he made it tighter, and then wanted to run his mouth as Acuña walked to first.
Good for Acuña that he just walked down to first and kept his mouth shut. But talk about karma, after that he blows the save.
Martinez is talented but after 2 games I think he’s hot head. After game 1 he looked at our bench and started talking **** and Yadi grabbed him by the neck and spun him away. His attitude caught up to him last night.
As they used to joke about another Braves catcher - Bruce ??? - he'd come in third in a race with a pregnant woman. Just quoting - please don't shoot.
Tell me about it, I think I've got the sports fan version of PTSD.
Soroka has been truly great this season, top 5 in MLB great. Too bad he hasn't gotten offensive support or he'd be in the hunt for The Cy this year.
The kid has the best combination of ability and makeup to wear a Braves uni since The Big 3 era.
It’s time for Soroka’s 100 mil
I trust he won't fold. I might wait a year though, he's not going anywhere before then. I agree he'll likely be worth locking up for big money. I respect everything about this guy's makeup, a Tommy Glavine type soft spoken unflappable warrior.
Not only Cy Young, also Rookie of the Year.
And to edit my previous post, Martinez had already blown the save when he went high and tight to Acuña, so I’m sure he was frustrated with that as well.
The longer you wait... the more you pay with guys like Soroka and Acuña. I love how they locked Ronald and Ozzie up super young. Of course there’s risk both ways, but from what I’ve seen the Braves lean risk adverse to an inflated payroll. I think AA is on to something here, to save payroll to add pieces when needed. Look for Soroka’s deal in the offseason I think.
I would be surprised if they lock him up this off season. After next season though, I could see it.
True. There's a hitter who was outstanding and ROTY usually goes to a hitter, but nothing is harder to come by than a great starter other than maybe a catcher who is great defensively and very good offensively. Yady Molina might have been the most valuable player in baseball for a long time.
Keuchel is getting the start for game 4.
Makes sense, thanks. I expect Folty to get the call in Atlanta if it gets to game 5.
Alright, I called 1,2,3 and 4 right, let's see if I got 5 right if it gets back to Atlanta, hopefully Keuchel ends it today.
I just wished all these playoff games didn't start so early.
Since apparently the other one is gone now that WC is no longer with us, I figured I would open another one.
Braves look to close out the LDS today against the cards.
WC is back and so is this thread. Merged yours.
Excellent. Thanks
