3 sec wins in a row. He probably gets a 5 year extension and pay equal to Kirby. Been a long time since basketball has had this much momentum. Cutting nets down soon
And just like that, back where we were...
Team defense is atrocious. Bama was picking apart the coverage and didn't help they were having a great night shooting.
The big iceberg I see is that we don't have an incoming stud for the next recruiting class so once again, we're going to pushing out this same lineup next season with the addition of grad/JUCO transfers which will, once again, take time for them to gel as a team. Another bandaid.
Is anyone hearing anything on the recruiting front to bring some hope? Trying my best to stay up but man...another down season.
I wouldn't cut down the nets just yet....Crean has not made any strides with defense against ranked teams.
At least he isn’t Jerry Stackhouse.
Is he struggling at Vandy? I haven't followed that closely. Although I did see highlights of Scottie Pippen, Jr. lighting it up the other day. Made me feel old.
I think he’s like 3-24 in league play in two years
Dawgs upset #20 Mizzo ! KD Johnson should be starting!!
Nice win over MIzzou, came from 13 down to beat No. 20 Tigers.
Good coaching, good chemistry. Still out-manned and two tough games on deck with Gators and LSU.
Great win tonight over Mizzou! Still supporting our young men. They have been laying it out there nightly. They do look good when it comes together and they are hitting from the 3 pt line.
Cannot believe Crean gave up 78 points to LSU. At home!
Dawgs are playing good ball, and Crean is making strides. Wheeler lit it up tonight, and this was another quality win (second in a row).
Credit for the turnaround after 4 straight losses to start SEC play. While I'm still not a fan of Crean, this team actually found a pulse after KD Johnson was cleared and has been playing much better.
Maybe he can do what Scott Stricklin has done and turn around the public's opinion on him.

Big win over LSU
Dawgs fought like h.ell today but came up short vs. Alabama. We just don't have the horses yet to run with the big boys.
Kudos to junior guard Sahvir Wheeler, who led the team all season including today, with 18 points and 10 assists.
I saw that Ga Tech finished 4th in the ACC this year under 5th year HC Josh Pastner, and I couldn't help but notice some similarities between him and Crean.
Both enjoyed previous success at basketball schools (Crean made five NCAA Tournaments and one Final Four with Marquette, plus a B1G championship at Indiana along with three Sweet Sixteens; Pastner averaged an impressive 24 wins over seven seasons at Memphis). Both also struggled to please their fan bases and were happy to land reclamation jobs at UGA and GT, respectively.
Pastner had been mediocre, at best, over his first four seasons at Tech, going 65-67 and failing to earn a single NCAA bid. But this year, they broke through, frankly in a very big way. Their conference record is the school's best since the 1995 squad with Stephon Marbury, and it's even better than the great 1989 "Lethal Weapon 3" team with Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott, and Brian Oliver. Notably, the Tech fan base has been clamoring for Pastner's firing steadily over the last couple of years.
I know Crean has his critics, and he's only 41-48 through three seasons in Athens, but I'm convinced more than ever that he deserves at least two more years to see if he can turn this ship around. It's no easy task. These things take time. He's objectively a good basketball coach. If we fire him now, we'll just be starting all over again, and we'll be hard pressed to find someone better. So I hope we don't.
-------
BTW, if he DOES happen to follow in Pastner's footsteps (i.e., in Year 5, achieving the best program results of the past 25 years), that means surpassing the 2002 UGA team of Jarvis Hayes, Ezra Williams, and Damien Wilkins, which went 11-5 in conference and finished in the Top 25. Sounds good to me. Hope it happens.
Imagine Georgia Tech AND Alabama winning conference titles in basketball this year, well, that might just happen. Georgia Tech already has, let's see what Bama does tomorrow. Makes me SICK to my stomach. While South Carolina and Auburn have been in the final 4 in previous years, and Georgia Bulldogs in basketball continue to be mediocre year after year with the talent we have in this state, no more excuses. "Well we're a football program first." So are South Carolina, Auburn, and Bama, who have been very successful in recent years or this year now.
