I’m releasing the files next week, they are on my desk. Thousands of hours of footage of Andruw Jones doing unspeakable things to McDonalds hamburgers in the team gym.
On the bright side, the fat and out of shape Braves are leading 5-1 going into the 9th. Lean and not fat Chris Sale had 11K's in his 7 innings. ERA now well below 3.00. Iglesias came in the 8th and, surprisingly, to me as least, gave up nothing. Could he be getting on a roll? Eli White homered in a pinch hitting role. Not sure why he doesn't play more than Verdugo. Better fielder and higher OPS. Maybe it's a righty-lefty thing. Hope they can hold on to this one. Can't build a winning streak if you lose.
They put it all together tonight. Great starting pitching, perfect bullpen work and timely power hitting. Be nice if they could start doing that more often.
Maybe Sale can pitch every game, like Little League. lol
Would be nice. But I'm reminded of the Texas Tech pitcher who pitched every game for them but had to pulled in the first inning. Fatigue makes cowards of us all.
6-2 win for the Bravos. Complete game for Schwelly and a couple of timely dingers. Recipe for success. Day off tomorrow and then the mighty Rockies are on tap.
They won a series. It's a start. Just not seeing it and the hole is mighty deep.
It IS deep, but…IF Strider can get back to his old form, IF Sale continues his dominance and IF Schwelly can continue to stay steady, that's 3 wins in 5 games fairly often. That's .600 winning percentage. Then, IF Grant Holmes and whomever (Elder ?) can win a few, then….I'm saying there's a chance. But the hole IS deep - very deep. Of course, if they can start hitting with runners in scoring position, that would help. Maybe even "fat/out of shape" Michael Harris can continue contributing.
like Rudyard Kipling with all those Ifs
Yeah, I couldn't do all those ifs if I had to.
This is a very frustrating season…. Love them.. but they’re in such a deep hole now.
The defense is among the best in MLB. The rotation lost another key pitcher this year, but the staff is exceeding expectations. Ronald Acuna is way better than Juan Soto and he could get a billion dollars in a couple years .
One thing is missing…hits with RISP. I don't like Riley at #2 in the order. He is a legitimate clean up hitter. Harris is chasing too much to count on in that spot right now, but I sure would like to see Ozzie or White force their into that spot. Stabilizing that batting order needs to happen soon
Not a bad suggestion. Riley is, to me, chasing too much. Better farther down the order. Ozzie seems to be waking up a bit - maybe give him a shot at it. If they have to play Harris, because of defense (although he may be too fat, evidently) I'd prefer him in the lower third of the order until he gets some consistency.
Gotta sweep the lowly Rockies you would think to have a shot at turning this around.
Id be happy with 2 of 3 = .667 ball the rest of the way might get us to the playoffs
