Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Would Jordan Burch be a OLB or a DE in our scheme?
Probably play on the OT outside shoulder with hand in the dirt
I think he is talking about Timothy Smith.
I have regarded him as a DE (DL) based on size and need.
Our mian 2019 OLB are:
Grant/Johnson/Beal - Good through 2019 min, 2020 possible with Beal possible 2021
Anderson/Cox/Ojulari - Good through 2020 min, 2021 possible with Ojulari thru 2022 possibly
N. Smith - Good through 2021 min, 2022 possible
(M Sherman - Good through 2022 min, 2023 possible)
Others to consider (OLB currently in other positions)
Quay Walker - Good through 2020 min, 2021 possible
Otis Reese - Good through 2020 min, 2021 possible
Rian Davis - Good through 2021 min, 2022 possible
Interestingly our 7 2019 OLB are all Blue Chip while 10 of our 15 (67%) DL are Blues. This supports the need to improve the quality of the DT/DE/NT position overall as mentioned by @dgd829 in an earlier post.
Burch is going to take this this a loooooooong way folks. And he absolutely doesn't do any media. Credit to Mr. Mansell for getting maybe 2-3 questions in over the weekend.
Those might be the last few questions his family answers for awhile.
But ..... might just be something there regardless.
Different families and situations but this makes me wonder if this is going to be a Nakobe Dean down-to-the-wire recruitment again, where all the insiders and recruiting reporters go back and forth right to the last minute.
I’m just going to consider Burch a pleasant surprise if he picks us. Too early to worry about it now
Dean was more solid on our end. We felt good up until 11th hr.
Lots of confidence coming from within on Burch. It going the distance is going to help us. My concern at this point is the school out west if he’s not going to commit in the summer.
LSU could get in this thing as well
If we make the CFP Burch will be a Dawg!
Id be surprised if he goes that far west. Similar to when boot boys consider us and leap frog bama and the in state school.
Most believe he will stay close to home. I’m about ready to pen him into our class as I was told to put the lotion in the basket.
With all due respect, sir. I'm not sure I would call this the exact same situation.
This one is a tad more complex.
Not sure I remember ALL the reporters and insiders going back-and-forth on this one.
Yeah, so @SoFL_Dawg and Jeff, I wasn't saying they were the same (hence the "Different families and situations"). . .but the Nakobe Dean stuff was crazy the last 48 hours or so, so I thought maybe that's what we were getting into with this when you said that this one was going to go on for a loooong time.
Also, I've looked around on Burch on various team boards, and he seems to be so tight lipped that reporters/posters in-the-know for SCAR, Clemson, Bama, and us, of course, all seem to be relatively confident on him. I'm very interested to see where this one goes.
While not the determining factor in his recruitment, where he chooses to visit on the 27th will be telling. If he’s in Athens, that’ll be a strong indicator.
Im going to guess, No Visit anywhere that weekend.
Ill take that over visiting somewhere other than UGA.
How does Z. Walker compare to Burch? Not too long ago, I think we would have taken a Walker or Ojulari early rather than hold out for a higher ranked player.
I think we are now in the position where we can sit and wait, and if we don’t land Burch we feel confident we could still get a Z Walker/ Ojulari/ someone else even if we have to flip them. Kirby has changed the culture in that respect. It use to be, “well they are committed now, but we won’t count them until signing day” now it’s “let’s see which 5 star we flip on signing day”
