Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I'm not happy about it, but I'm also not worried about it. I do think it's okay to worry about it. Your posts seemed to be complaining about how we've recruited the past two years however, and that's where I personally strongly disagree. I think we've recruited well, and some weird things have happened. I also think that we'll be fine at the position, although I certainly think Evans is really good and am not sold on Clayton.
Doesn’t appear to bother Texas A&M
Not targeting scooterdawg but sometimes posters have to defend themselves and it results in long debates to the detriment of the thread.
They really don't have the luxury of turning him away. They absolutely have to have him.
"Yes, if Dell wants him I concur with this. I do think Dell will look elsewhere first.
The reality on Clayton is that LSU didn’t/doesn’t want him. If they did, we wouldn’t be mentioning him here. Similar to UGA and Edwards, Pryor, Gibbs. If UGA wanted them they wouldn’t be looking elsewhere. Clayton has already been labeled with durability concerns and as we know, it doesn’t get easier in the SEC. He’s talented, and off to a great start this year but does he push the two deep in the first 18 months? White, Milton, Cook, McIntosh...lots of talent going to be back next year. Is he a ST player?
Also, can’t ignore the fact that the competition is Kansas here. I’m not going to pretend to be a humble fan when it comes to RBs at RBU. Kansas...really? If he’s a Dawg I’ll embrace him as such but until then, let’s see where Dell decides to look first."
this is what sofl said...got him 8 UV, he at least managed something positive.
Well, good thing we got Milton. I’m sure Clayton is a fine back but if we’re going plan D then it’s disappointing. (post 1) this got you a whopping 1 DV
LOL, figured I’d get the DVs and next I’ll be reminded that Herrien was a 3 star. I’m ecstatic we got Milton BUT as Jeff and others said Evans was an alpha and the kind of guy who could make the difference against the elite teams in the biggest games.
If you wanna tell me that we don’t need that sort of back and Clayton is a perfect substitute then take it up with the experts. Personally I’m holding out for a flip of a higher rated guy. Love Dell but this will be two years in a row where apparently bad luck has cost huge misses if Clayton ends up being the consolation prize.
Bring on the DVs. This is Georgia. RBU. (post 2) this one got you 6, which you even asked for them
Does sofl get the UV bump for all his opinions, sure. But wile your takes are generally the same, he at least tried to put in a qualifier there. For me, speaking for myself, you sound entitled and grumpy. I think Dell should get the benefit of the doubt here. We are coming up on his third full cycle and he's proven himself time and again.
True. But does it effect any others down the stretch? Does it effect his top five outside of us? By extension, does it effect other schools board? It could send a ripple effect for other recruits as well.
Honestly and with all due respect, I don’t really care if you get my “point”. @umooner and I are somewhat simpatico on how we feel about this though he apparently thinks I’m blaming Dell when I said it was bad luck.
I get it, you don’t like my opinion, don’t think I should dare to ever question a coach, and probably think I’m doing a player a disservice by suggesting one isn’t as good as the other. I’m an asshole. Sorry that you feel that way but continually asking for me to explain myself to your satisfaction probably won’t lead anywhere.
My point had already been made more than anyone apparently wanted to read it so I’ll just leave it at that.
Walker next to commit
Completely agree @texdawg. Our current depth at RB is far superior. Luckily we do have the luxury to walk away if need be.
Interesting bolds...since you DID bold where I said it was bad luck AND where SoFL said what I said he did...with the halfassed qualifier. I guess I missed it where I said that I was going to burn all my UGA gear and never speak Clayton’s name if he signs with Georgia. 😉
That's exactly the difference.
Why don't you reread my posts. Just re read them myself. Actually never criticized you.
I haven't accused you of anything. Never ever insinuated that you are an asshole - never would.
I'm just wondering why you are so upset. And seem to be getting more upset.
I just asked what Georgia did wrong.
Too many “get off my lawn” dudes with some of these recruits. I get it and I’m cool with that train of thought, but football isn’t a game for choir boys. I hope we recruit Evans until hell freezes over and land him in the end
fair enough
let's end this and get this thread back on topic...
gonna say DW next to commit still
There comes a point where a guy's sheer talent outweighs any negative off-the-field issues. I believe that Zachary Evans has crossed that threshold and that we should continue to heavily pursue him.
However, at the same time I trust our staff to do whats right for this team. There's a reason they're in their positions and I'm not.
