Did The Hawks get much value in the Schroder trade ?.....

Of course #14 is significant. It means it's lottery protected. If a team is 14th going into the pottery, it has a mathematical chance at moving all the way to #1, and an excellent chance of ending up with a higher pick than #14.

The Hawks should finish low enough to get a lottery pick and, likely, a pretty high one, this coming year.

Too bad the 2019 draft looks pretty weak at the top compared to this year's draft. The only player in next year's draft who looks really special to me now is 6'9'' SF/ PF Sekou Doumbouya, a narturalized Frenchman born in Guina. He is currently going 4th in an early mock, but I expect he'll go a bit higher. His athletic ability and length is Giannis like.
I sure don't see 8 potentially special talents like we had this year.

The post before yours was about the 2022 pick we got from Oklahoma City. It's top 14 protected.

Mathematically it’s actually very very small to move up higher than 14

    Well..not exactly.
The odds of moving way up are very low, but the ACCUMULATIVE odds of moving up a bit are excellent.

The odds of getting the top pick at the bottom of the lottery..

    14 - 0.5%

    13 - 0.6%

    12 - 0.7%

    11 - O.8%

    10 - 0.9%

    9 - 1.0%

All it takes is 1 of those low odds teams to draw 13th to move up from 14.

The hawks are one of the worst organizations in sports, and they just made another dumb ass move with no defense. You’re better off just giving up on the NBA this year anyways. Such a joke

The Knicks have been worse, and they are the 2nd richest NBA franchise, plus they play home games in Madison Square Gardens.
It's tough to put together a title team in a league where you have to have at least 1 of the 50 all time greats to havemuch chance at winning a title. The only team since the 1970s to win a title without at least 1 all time great player was the last Pistons team to win. Cleveland, GS, The Lakers, Chicago, S.A., Miami, Houston, Boston, Philly, they all had at least 1, most had 2 or more.
All The Hawks can do is maximize their draft picks, take their best guess as to who will be great and hope they pan out.

Good move. You can’t have Schroeder on the team after he requested to play for the Pacers, or the Bucks specifically. He would have contaminated the young bucks. Plus.......what if he’s actually convicted?

No one is talking about Justin Anderson. He will be a popular player in Atlanta. He plays above the rim and will produce some nasty dunks this season.

The picks will be what they will be. Schlenk is rather shrewd in his dealings and I like the high road he has taken thus far. This team is going to be just fine, but the first half of next season is gonna be ****.
