When Saban retires in the next couple of years that money is going to dry up fast. They'd better get it while the getting is good, there's a new sheriff in town and he's called "The Dawgs"!

Bama will offer their top choice to replace Saban just about any amount to keep their wagon rolling.
I hope it's Dabo, not Kirby.

Kirby ain't going nowhere. Doubt Dabo will either tbh. With that said Dabo is more likely than Kirby.

You think that Saban will be there when they finish those projects in 10 years??

    Doubtful

    Saban in 2028..

I don't see Saban being like Bowden and Paterno. He will ride the crest and leave before the program recedes.

I didn't either, until he signed his new contract last month.

The contract technically runs thru 2024, but the crafty old bastud probably had them run it that long for recruiting purposes. That doesn't mean he'll stay thru it's entirety.

Down voting that post is silly. Are you guys afraid to discuss the obvious ?

Do you think Kirby would leave for more money? At this point, what can he do at Bama that he can't do at home?

    Tuscaloosa vs Athens? Nolo contendere.

He's home, Mary Beth is home and Athens is where they want to raise their children. It will take something really **** for the administration ( not unheard of, but doubtful) to do to get the Smart's out of Athens.

I would have been more concerned about the administrative support piece in years past. That said, had Kirby not gotten certain assurances about getting the support he felt he needed to implement his vision I don't think he would have come back to Athens in the first place. It is admittedly a small sample size but last season's success combined with the recruiting waves we've made definitely support the "give Kirby whatever he wants/needs" narrative.

There is always the possibility that Kirby could leave....for that matter he could get hit by a bus...most than likely though, if he did leave it would be for the pros
