When Saban retires in the next couple of years that money is going to dry up fast. They'd better get it while the getting is good, there's a new sheriff in town and he's called "The Dawgs"!

Bama will offer their top choice to replace Saban just about any amount to keep their wagon rolling.
I hope it's Dabo, not Kirby.

Do you think Kirby would leave for more money? At this point, what can he do at Bama that he can't do at home?

It wouldn't be just about money, both Kirby and his wife have strong ties to The UA community.
Vince Dooley was offered The HC position at his alma mater ( All-Barn), he elected to stay at UGA where he'd spent close to 20 years at the time.
I'm not saying Kirby would leave, but it's not out of the question either.

There is always the possibility that Kirby could leave....for that matter he could get hit by a bus...most than likely though, if he did leave it would be for the pros

I don't think Kirby would want to coach in The NFL, but you never know.

He's home, Mary Beth is home and Athens is where they want to raise their children. It will take something really **** for the administration ( not unheard of, but doubtful) to do to get the Smart's out of Athens.

I would have been more concerned about the administrative support piece in years past. That said, had Kirby not gotten certain assurances about getting the support he felt he needed to implement his vision I don't think he would have come back to Athens in the first place. It is admittedly a small sample size but last season's success combined with the recruiting waves we've made definitely support the "give Kirby whatever he wants/needs" narrative.

    Sock it to me !

Yeah. He seems like a college lifer to me but who knows? I know being the UGA head coach takes a lot of time and work but it’s still probably better familywise to be a college coach. At least he’s home occasionally. Between travel and the insane demands, being an NFL coach is not conducive to seeing your kids and family basically ever.

He also was witness to Saban's foray into The NFL.
Kirby understands his ability to recruit is a huge plus, he'd have to give that advantage and other material advantages up.

Bryant-Denny is going to be the new Yankee Stadium of college football

GTFO with that crap. You can put lipstick on a pig and its still a pig.

As long as Bama is located in Tuscaloosa it will still be considered one of the armpits of college football.

All joking aside, that Stadium is going to be DOPE, even if it is in a town like Tuscaloosa.

Kirby ain't going nowhere. Doubt Dabo will either tbh. With that said Dabo is more likely than Kirby.

You think that Saban will be there when they finish those projects in 10 years??

    Doubtful

    Saban in 2028..

    That's funny!!!

Regardless of the next coach, one must admit Alabama’s overhaul is monumental.

They are spending roughly half the amount of their endowment on sports.

I hope we have few upgrades up our sleeve in addition to the upcoming weight room.

I wouldn’t; however, want to spend to the extent that our academic stature would depreciate.

They are reducing the overall seating capacity to add 3000 luxury seats, it's BS.
    It's gentrification hick style.

We're out-recruiting The Gumps without a 40 acre weight room and Roman bathes.
We don't need to constantly worry about what their hick asses are up to.

Athens vs Tuscaloosa is hard to beat.

They plan to spend 600 million over the next 10 years on Bryant-Denny Stadium and other amenities.

The difference is likely the need to raise the money, but the Gumps did well with that video. One has a pretty good idea of what is being done as compared with the anemic video provided for the West End Zone project. Not sure that equals to $600k.

Another difference is that the Bammer work must have been in the works for a while, whereas the WEZ was more a hurry up, git 'er done type thing, with Kirby making his tweaks to set his stamp on it. <- just guessing.

Some people worry about The Gumps too much.
