Very well put. Georgia is stacking up so much oline talent that they really need to flush out the pipeline. Just to keep certain players from getting frustrated.
Hard to imagine Georgia recruiting offensive lineman at a higher level - but if 4 guys get drafted in the first 4 rounds of next year's draft - it may get even better. And put Pittman at legendary status.
I seem to remember Sentell saying on a DND that he thought Paris was another Isaiah Wilson type. Great size/tools, but might need a year before he's ready. And that Jones was more Andrew Thomas.
Of course, you never really know until you get these kids on campus. I'm just regurgitating as best I can remember.
Got it. LSU may not be pursuing as hard, but officially, I don’t know. I don’t think they lose to frequently outside of adjacent states for players they want. We haven’t beat them yet, and Tongue was not recruited by LSU at WR.

I’m not sure I missed the episode but I do believe Paris is prototypical LT, with best feet and hands in his class. I saw @JeffSentell mention RS, and I don’t disagree with that as Mays and Condon will be in year 3 but I don’t consider Paris a project (like a Darnell Wright from 19). Hopefully that makes sense.

in short, I don’t know who this kid is and his offer could be committable, but it’s doubtful. There’s lots of reasons kids get offers from top flight schools; 80% of them aren’t committable, or contingent on how other dominoes fall. Some even have political reasons for extending the offer. I wouldn’t take an offer on OL today as anything more than keeping options/backup plans open or building further rapport with a HS staff that might have future elite prospects in pipeline. I can say unequivocally, that a 3 star OT will not be in this class unless he just started playing football a year ago with tremendous upside.

it comes down to transparency. If staff doesn’t think he’d be elite, push the OL as a DL, and compete for playing time there, why recruit the kid and set both up for failure. Can you see it? Rodgers signs as DT, things don’t work out and we try to move him to OL. Rodgers enters transfer portal. The insinuation is staff sold him a bill of goods to gain his signature and proceeded to mislead him. This might be a stretch but it’s not worth the headache when we legit have 3 interior OL who are as good as Rodgers.
DL, as a whole we need to relax. We’re in really good spots with 2 NT, 4 elite DEs (including a five star), with two DTs currently committed. Where does Rodgers fit in?

Yeah not sure what’s going on there. Regarding Rodgers, staff is being transparent with him. He enjoys the recruiting process, the most recent visit seems to be the favorite visit. At this point is about finding a fit in red and black and where does he fit?
On DL, we’re top 2 for 2 NT targets (Carter & Smith). We’re top 2 for 4 DE targets (Walker, Cowan, Burch, Hardy (ignore that top 16 noise)). Currently have 2 DT prospects although we may see some changes there.
OL-we have interior targets as good if not better than Rodgers regardless of ranking. Their recruitments aren’t as fun either.
If staff tells Rodgers he can play both DL/OL but know they really think he’s an OL, it’s setting up for a negative experience. As soon as it doesn’t work out for Rodgers, he’s a kid that based on his recruitment would hit the transfer portal in a heartbeat. Why take on the added stress? It’s better for him and us if he goes where he’d get a legit shot to play what he feels he can play and his most desirable position.
