And who could forget The Battle at Baggage Claim....
The battle of Fort McHenry was fought during the war of 1812 as well.
I was curious as to both why Kap or anyone could have a problem with that particular flag and why it truly offends some folks that a corporation of all things made a decision that they didn’t like. I’d like to say that this thread was helpful in that regard, but unfortunately not so much.
Simplistically, it’s yet again people being convinced that their POV or opinion is the only valid or right one. Whether it’s a washed up former QB who should probably leave his “activism” to someone with a bit more of clue, or people convinced that a shoe company is seeking the downfall of America.
Ahh, you obviously weren't thinking clearly in your argument @Kasey You forgot to take into account the fact that any argument can instantly be refuted and rendered invalid by merely invoking the name of a former President or someone who never even was one. It excuses anything and stops any argument in its tracks. It's even more devastating when you place a "but" before it.
Note: Said invocation of "But, what about X" doesn't need to have anything to do with the debate, as in this case.
Whataboutism
I UV for creativity, but here are the hammer and sickle fans of Adidas:
I appreciate your stance on this, but the two things are not the same
Obama flew the Betsy Ross flag at his 2nd inauguration
This is absurdity. This flag didn’t represent racism two weeks ago. Why now all of a sudden? You think Kap represents most black football players? Is that what you just said? I will bet you $100 not one player ever thought of the Betsy Ross flag as racist. I See how you twisted my words to claim I hate black football players because I don’t support Kap. Ridiculous and incredibly offensive.
2. Kap and Nike are victims of the moment. The KKK are toxic and being associated with them in any form is a bad look. They discontinued the shoe because of it.
3. The KKK/neo nazis are such a small portion of the population that most people probably didn't know they were trying to Co-opt the Ross flag. I didn't until I saw this thread.
4. Does this **** even matter?
