So looking to next season... The Braves have some choices to make.
* Try to re-sign Donaldson to a 2-3 yr deal or is Riley the answer at 3rd? I want to give the kid every opportunity but he struggled bigly on offspeed stuff after his initial hot streak.
* Go for starting pitching help or focus on in-house options?
* Corner outfield. Acuna is the only outfielder who has a spot to me at this point. Don't know if either of the kids on the farm will be ready yet. Ideally, Joyce is a 4th outfielder type. Markakis doesn't seem to contribute enough for a corner outfield spot. Would love to see a bat added there.
Thoughts?
• I would definitely try to re-sign JD. But it would have to be a 2 year deal, nothing more.
• I would be in the Garrett Cole sweepstakes. If we can’t get him, trade folty, release julio, and bring up the young kids. Maybe try to re-sign Keuchel, but again, no more than 2 yrs.
• Markakis has to go. I don’t need a 36 yr old slap hitter occupying a corner outfield spot. Again, bring up the kids, and see what they can do.
Maybe I’m too pissed off to be thinking about this right now, because what I typed out sounds a lot like blowing the whole thing up and starting over.
We won the East 2 years in a row and then yuck. I would focus on acquiring starting pitching and the catcher spot. And. yes Markakis maybe replaced for the right player.
Mark Richt has completely lost control of the Braves
No you’re right we need to get rid of Markakis, although he’d be a fine 4th outfield bench option. Frankly I’m surprised we didn’t move on from him last year.
Id like JD to return, i would also like kuechel back. Except we should probably realize kuechel is maybe a number 3 and shouldn’t be a 2 playoff starts a series guy lol what a joke.
Keep folty, probably won’t get much for him in a trade, think he only has 1 year left anyway.
It’s past time we make a big free agent signing or trade, it should have happened last year. We need to push the chips in enough to be an actual WS contender. That means 1-2 upper tier starting pitchers, get a legit corner outfield bat an another plus player, and figure out the bullpen

Hate that it ended like this. Sucks to not even get to watch but 1/2 an inning of a game 5. Sure was a fun season though up til today of course. Hope we can add a big time starter next year to go with soroka fried and whoever else. Really need a closer too. Anyways that’s next year. Go dawgs!!!!!!
Too bad he didn’t show up the rest of the series. We could be waiting to see who we would face between the gnats and dodgers.
Oh. well. It was fun while it lasted and it lasted longer than last year. Much to be optimistic about for next year. Got to rest up...for Saturday.

It's a lot on Folty, that was about as bad a 1 out performance as I've seen. It was the whole team over those 3 innings though, just a huge choke job. The curse lives.
