Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Sure nuff Tex. Just posted a note to Mike Griffith...thought u might like:)
Hey Mike. Gonna try and help u win ur first Pulitzer…and here’s how.
I want an accurate telling of this 2020 CFB story. If the SEC plays this year, the media will be eager to document any Covid cases and outcomes...we know that. So OK, I'm fine with that...provided the quitter Conferences report on their athletes as well. Are we gonna get reports on their athletes/students for Fall term…or does their cancel-the-season decision get them a free-pass on all Covid cases on their campuses. If those numbers are hidden, it’s a rigged game. But, if the reporting is done fairly, I’m perty sure the SEC athletes, with their safety protocols in place, are gonna fare better. Thinking I’m not alone on this…but really want the 2020 CFB story reported accurately…if not the only accurate story this year:(
p.s. Can u imagine Zeus not getting this season? How many hours/pounds/reps has that dude put-in for this chance to uplift his family?? Wow.
p.s.s. Do they give Pulitzers to ex-Airborne and/or jock reporters???
Coaches shouldn't have a voice in these decisions. The only people whose opinions should count are non-sports leaders and medical professionals. Everybody with a direct stake in sports programs has inherent biases to play.
So...
The people who understand the ins and outs most about what is trying to happen have nothing to bring to the conversation?
Gotta kind of disagree with this take.
Just an opinion of someone who has been around athletics a while - there are inherent biases everywhere, and anyone who claims to not have one is lying to themselves.
There are ZERO opinions WORTH HEARING on this issue that do not have a bias of some kind (in other words, there may be a farmer in Iowa who has no bias, but his opinion on football in Georgia really brings nothing to the table...).
awesome clip.
Definitely an awesome clip!
Fun fact. That's the late, great Bob Watson who gets the cheer started. Played for the Braves at the end of his career (early 80's). He went on to be MLB's second black GM, and the first to win a World Series. Passed away just a few months ago. Very well respected and loved by all who knew him in baseball.
Here's an obituary if you're interested to read more.

I wonder if coaches will have the ability to opt out. Something tells me if Jim Chaney caught the Rona, he might not do so well.
Respectfully disagree. If your premise is that stake holders should not have a say I have 2 counter arguments.
I believe you are correct. Drugs and obesity.

Isn’t Saban pushing 70 years old, too? There are a lot of coaches that aren’t in the best of health.
True. Staff may be at the greatest risk.
Saban's new coaching tower.
Could you imagine the outcry if that happened? Mortality rates are very low for the players, and the death of a player is worst case scenario. Second worst scenario is Saban, one of the greatest coaches of all time. SEC commissioners would look like a bunch of flat-earthers. I understand their hesitation, if any exists.
