Right? Some comments in this thread are a big yikes.
Big yikes?
Umm...
I have seen and heard big yikes. Everywhere, by all walks of life, about all different races and creeds of people, about all kinds of people.
This board is a 1.5 out if 10 as far as big yikes go.
We have seen a few plays support Reese and that's fine, I get that. I wish a few players would support the staff. I feel like this staff has supported the players (look at Mathis) a lot of staff is black and they're caught up in the middle of this mess also.
I think so. My local police have gone out of their way to kindly let me know the speed limit is 35 and not 40 multiple times
maybe they don’t
So Reese is saying that he fled a campus where so many classmates had hate in their hearts to...Ole Miss? Where recently students posed after shooting up Emmit Till's memorial? Where a noose was put on the statue of James Meredith? Not saying there aren't racists in the UGA student body. God knows I met plenty when I went there. But give me a break that he's gone someplace better.
They cant write you a citation unless your going more than 10 over, but they can still stop you. Disclaimer- That doesn't apply to GSP they can write you for 1 over.
Quotas are illegal.
Fellas, I think we are overthinking this--all of this angst and all of this bile. It is really about Otis getting to play this year. He will say whatever is necessary to be eligible because he wants to play. I get that.
Are you saying it's wrong for a police officer to stop you for speeding?
That's the problem. The NCAA and SEC have rules governing transfers. Players have discovered that if they lawyer-up and come up with some reason then the powers that be will likely capitulate. Exaggerated claims of systemic racism seem to work quite well. I mean, isn't that what Fields did...and where was he just a few weeks ago? If UGA is such an awful, racist, unsafe place...so bad that he felt he had to leave the entire geographic area, why was Fields hanging out on campus watching our practice? It's all BS.
I wouldn't take it personally. Look at Fields, Mays, and Reese and many others. They are going to make any argument they can to create leverage. They have none in the system the NCAA/SEC has set up. I get this, and the Dawgnation should, too. It really isn't about racism; it's about getting to transfer and play while they are still young men.
@PerroGrande nailed it. They want to play but they want to play now. Just hate the fact that these people have to throw the school under the bus to achieve that
Hmmm...wonder if the powers that be at UT and Ole Miss are willing to hold an emergency meeting to overturn the SEC rule that is holding these transfers up, knowing that there own programs could be the victims of it in the future? Yeah, not much coming out of anyone but Pruitt's and Kiffin's mouths on that, is there?
I get that...but that's the rules. Making up or exaggerating claims of abuse and racism to gain favor is plain wrong and immoral. I wish the NCAA had the courage to stand up to all these accusations and just say no. People tend to think that as long as they have a reason then they can do whatever they want. The SEC has transfer rules that are more stringent than the NCAA rules. I think every player knows that. So, if you lose your starting position and decide to transfer...maybe you should pick a non-SEC school and not expect everyone to cater to your wishes. I've seen it in the work place as well. People making up excuses or accusations to get their way...sometimes ruining good people.
How dare you not assume the cops are all racists.
Dont you understand the best way to fight false generalizations are with generalizations?
Talk about a toxic environment!

You're making great points to win an argument you feel strongly about, PG. That is exactly what they are doing. They aren't exaggerating in their view. They are making an argument to gain leverage. Yes, those are the rules, and they are trying to circumvent them to be eligible. In their minds ( and to some point I agree) the rules are set up to protect the interests of the NCAA and SEC--not the players. My personal view is that Reese is a good player. I'm a fan. I hope the SEC will approve his request and he goes on to play on Sundays.
