I question the Hunter thing based on Kirby's recent comments. He does not appear to think it's a good thing and likely would not be interested in paying a kid $850K to come to UGA. I trust Kirby way more than Jimbo.
Inflation is a problem.
Kirby didn't say he wouldn't pay big NIL dollars, just said he wasn't going to recruit kids that were only worried about NIL. Big difference.
Yes, my point is as time goes along I think we are going to find that those kids who aren't that worried about NIL are going to be fewer and fewer each year. The natural progression of economics is that top players will come to expect competitive offers from all interested programs.
I think the same percentage of players that only care about money and want competitive offers in this ‘22 class will be the same percentage in the ‘23 class and so on. So, I’m not sure I buy the “natural progression of economics” piece.
I think you are wrong, but that's ok. If I can make $1M or even $500K at UCLA or Miami...why in the world would I go to UGA for significantly less? Don't know why some of you think elite players will pick UGA simply out of school spirit and winning a bunch of games.
Development for the NFL.
Is UGA really any better at that than TAMU or Oregon or Michigan or Clemson?
Then why doesn't UGA have the #1 class every year if it's the best at developing NFL players?
Now who is arguing for the sake of arguing?
Just saying that a lot of elite players felt that other programs were either equal to or better than UGA for their development. UGA really isn't much different than any of the other major programs out there for player development.
Ok
How do you know UGA is offering significantly less? Don’t know why some of you think that. I guarantee you they are offering competitive deals for players they want.
You might want to check Kirby and staff’s development record. Only Saban is better. And if UGA can get a little better QB and WR play no one will have better development in college football.
