The new guy, Mahle, gave them 6 shutout innings. When it got to the 9th, Iglesias did his too frequent walk, walk, hit, hit but this time was unable to close the gate and gave up 2 tying runs. Kinley gave up one in the 10th and poof, the winning streak was over.
We need Suarez back, maybe as the closer. I'm losing confidence in Iggy. I wonder if Kim can pitch, especially since he's just sitting around, not doing much of anything.
Iggy is getting tired from the grind. He needs about a week of rest I'd love to see them use Fuentes in closer role to spell Iggy for about a week.
Suarez should be back near end of August hopefully and could lighten Iggy's load
It was a bad omen in the first inning when Ozzie tried to take third on the Dubon single. Tagged out and the Yankees challenged the run scored. Yankees win the challenge. Call overturned. Albies tagged out before Baldwin scored.
Yeah it was a good start. Iggy has been shaken lately but actually I think if he puts that swinging bunt in his pocket instead of trying to make a hero play we probably still win.
The Phillies lost again so really a winning day for the Braves with magic number reduced. They had Wheeler pitching too. Cant be good for their morale they need to win these games and are losing with their ace.
Braves lose. Phillies lose.
Braves win.
It stinks dropping two very winnable games to the Yankees. But some of this is just Baseball happening. Team is still playing well just ran into a good team who wont give away wins like the Marlins or Nationals. Gotta tighten a few things up.
Figured we would get the Sale game but we are now staring down a sweep tomorrow. If that happens just move on and start over.
Again the losses stink but nothing Ive seen the last two days makes me think this team isnt in good shape.
Horrible balk call. That imo was a Yankee generated call. Not called in any other series.
Chris Sale was ejected from today's game before it even was starting! Holmes is the starter today!

So Braves might be playing 9 vs 13 today…hmmm.
Dam. That means he was really pi**ed about it.
It was a horrible call. The balk thing is another thing Baseball needs to clean up. Way too subjective from the Umps perspective. They can basically call anything a balk if they want.
Nice to get that last one. All three games were coin flip games could've went either way. Which is the best you can hope for playing a good team on the road.
Fuentes is gonna give up a homer every now and then. Nature of his game power pitcher.
Matt Olson was off the field in the 10th which is extremely rare. Didnt hurt them and they did get more speed on the bases in the top of the inning.
Taking 1 out of 3, kept lead over Phillies a stalemate. Advantage Braves who are on the road while Phillies were at home losing 2 of three.
@swilkerson7317 No doubt. A sweep by the crankees would've been hugely disappointing. Nice way to salvage the win in extras thanks to Michael Harris.
Two Home runs in the game, one by the Braves and one by the Yankees. Both solo shots.
Is it just me, or are the vast majority of home runs hit this year solo jobs?
Should have been 2 run homer for Olson. Acuna missed opportunity to walk with available challenge right before Olson.
Does seem a lot of solo shots. Not at all sure if it more than normal or not.
Great job by Holmes. 6 more shutout innings. I think that is at least 12 innings in row with no runs. If he can keep that up, it would be HUGE!!

They did get to Fuents for an HR - he hasn't give up many. As swilk pointed out, it happens to power pitchers now and then. If you miss with a 98+ heater, there are lot of guys who will deposit it into the bleachers somewhere.
