Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Seems like a lot of work and effort to control the content of a free forum. I didnt’ think there was a problem before. Teddy says above that only 3 duplicate posts have been effected out of 390 threads. That’s great, but it sounds like you guys have new instructions from above are just now starting to tighten up on the content...which leads me to believe there will be many more threads closed in the future.
And please don’t make me use the search function to ensure there isn’t already a thread on a topic before I start a new thread.

Lol... it's kind of like your 2nd cousin's wedding. You don't want to go and would think up some excuse not to, but you want that invitation just to know they care.
Just to clear up any confusion, "free forum" doesn't equate to having no rules at all. And these instructions have been in place since mods were selected, and why I used that as a reference to the above stats. It takes roughly 1 to 2 mins to scan the title of threads on the first page.
👍👍I wanted to give u more than two thumbs up, but that was all I could muster.
Just reading through this as a fairly regular poster, there’s some great points on both sides. In the case of duplicate threads why not take a wait and see approach? Give it 24 hours then close the thread that doesn’t take off or the one that gets off topic?
As someone who was had a thread not only closed but deleted and I’ll own it. It should have been and glad the mods are stepping in on that.
This holier than thou I’m the boss thing is going to get old @dawgnms , as a mod you should carry yourself better than that. You’re essentially a face of the board. You keep saying “you don’t like it leave”, well if there’s more than less who don’t like it the board will die. I personally don’t want to see that happen because even before mods when it was a free for all this was the best board out there. I don’t see the other mods carrying themselves that way.
As someone has said traffic has died down and that may be because it’s the off season but the last 2 off seasons there was more traffic I think. Don’t know why that is but I see it too.
The old saying is opinions are like ... everybody has one and this was mine.
Just my opinion, but there are a few factors for what seems like slower traffic. We came off the 2017 season, first year of the board's existence, having played in the NC game. Incredible season that carried well into the spring and summer with great expectations and plenty to talk about. 2018 even though a good season, was some what of a let down for us fans having lost the SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. Not quite the hype as year one. The buzz has dropped off some.
I can tell you though, when Jeff put in the new registration for members, we approved more that 200+ new members in less than two weeks and are still adding 10 + a day. Not like folks are turning away from the board.
Is there a way to tell how many total users there are?
I'm pretty sure that's only visible to the Admin ie Jeff. I'm curious as well, but have yet to see it.
Maybe it came across wrong, the amount of posts and dialect in those posts has dropped. You could be right though about the let down but this is the most talented team ever assembled at UGA and the front page has more things not pertaining to the team than it should. I’m not saying you’re wrong just my observation.
I agree, I just don't think the media is getting to see enough to drop us any meaningful intel. It seems very slow on that front, which in turn leads to less topic discussions.
Yes, it's one of the slowest parts of the year for football talk. Was the same way back in the olden days of the DN forum, way back in 2017. With G-Day quickly approaching it'll will soon pick back up. In the meantime, maybe a good thread about if there's a difference in a pincer movement and double envelopment could cure the offseason blues?
I post a good bit less now that I can't quote a post when I want to respond to it.
@donm I wish we could get that fixed for you. This has to be an issue that the tech support guys hosting the site have to look into and unfortunately the Mods don't have access to them...
Not sure what browser your using but maybe you should try another. I use Google Chrome, but Firefox is good also. Try downloading a new browser and see if that helps any.
I workaround is to use the “@“ and type their username to get their attention of those you’re responding to. It’s only happened to me once, and it was because of a long back and forth with a lot of characters.
