How sound is the logic that fell behind and couldn't catch LSU with explosive plays because we hadn't done it in games before - games where we were pretty much in the lead the whole time. I don't get that logic. I won't pretend to know enough to explain the LSU loss, but it's hard for me to believe it's because we didn't use explosive plays in the 2nd half of previous games.
Maybe this wasnt evident to you last night but Herrien was the starter. So by your own deduction, Vaughn would beat out Swift.
'Vaughn wouldn't beat out Swift. He might be about where Herrien is though.'
While contemplating this statement I accidentally DVed.
Vaughn wouldn't beat out Swift.
Ummm. He might. It would be 1a and 1b at the least.
He is a serious talent.
Herrien being in on the first play meant little to nothing in my opinion. Swift is our #1 back as of now.
Agree
One in particular in Nov for me
There's not a switch that can be flipped to make it happen just because you want it to
I don’t have a problem with the “complaining”, it is more so the lack of understanding. But, I have seen a lot of opinions on here, TOS and social media that shows a lack of real football knowledge. A lot of what is being criticized most heavily from last nights game is just silly. And it gets compounded by a bad take being read by other posters, they don’t realize the take is flawed and then everyone starts agreeing with that opinion. I am pretty sure Kirby and his staff have a good handle on what to do. Sometimes it is better to listen rather than try to explain why we are doomed after a 24 point SEC win on the road.
We played pretty good last night. Yes, Herrien got the senior start and well deserved, but Swift showed why he is one of the top backs in the nation. He was explosive and quick through the holes. Great to see Drob get his touchdown. You know there is more of that coming. The D played a heck of a game. No issue there at all. Biggest concern is the 10 penalties which is very fixable. We’d have had a shutout with out the penalties.
Amen. None of us are experts. We offer opinions on what we think should or shouldn't happen - but someone with the exact amount of experience or knowledge could offer a completely different take.
Well, I just got here for the afternoon and I'm kinda scratching my head at anybody complaining at all...???? We went on the road and beat an SEC team soundly. If Jackson had not have fumbled inside the 5 on that pass catch we would have went up 38-6. Then if they hadn't have tried to hit Pickens 3 or 4 times and just pounded it in, it would have been 45-6 and nobody would be complaining about anything. They wouldn't have done that with Pickens if the game would have been close.
The OL was in control of this game. The D was fast and dominating. Zeus White is monster...that run where he ran 10 yards, then carried their entire D another 10 yards shows you how much depth we have when your 4th string RB can do that. Fromm was in control and not rattled at all. All of the talk about having no WRs was ridiculous when you have Robinson and Cook that have blinding speed.
We had some first game penalties and some mistakes, but Bama was 0-0 against Duke deep into the second Quarter. We scored TDs on our first three possessions. This game was never in doubt. That's my take...
Good take
Are you sure you're practicing what your preaching. You've read about a few things that some think may need to be worked on, and you assume those folks think we are doomed because of it.
I'm sureKirby some flaws
@TMDawg7 First thing - I'm a former coach not a current coach. I'm just a dad in the stands.
I know much of what you and others were saying last night was reacting to your frustrations.
And I agree that I could have been less of a smart ass. And for that I sincerely apologize.
After last night I realized that a game time thread is not a place where I belong. I shouldn't be reacting to every over reaction. So I'll avoid that in the future.
That being said - is your thread suggesting that no one should be able to react to another posters complaints about the game?
Our emperor may have no clothes but I'll bet his mama taught him to never leave home without underwear on. Flaws, indeed. /s
Don I got a reverse mohawk on this one. Im mon need a redo on this one
People tend to over react in a live type thread. Keep that in mind and you will be fine. You did well in that thread and wish you would consider to continue offering your insight.
Well. I think next day may be best. I have a hard time reading how we thought our defense would be better this year on the third series of the season.
Or some of the other points that were made.
I got a little smart a$$ last night which didn't benefit anyone.
Benefitted me
