FWIW my model had 54 deaths for the last 3 days. Hopefully the model is correct at 17 per day for the rest of the month (slight improvement).
I would like to see some Governor make masks mandatory, stop indoor dining and close bars but leave everything else open. That would really test the mask theory as indoor dining and bars are the only businesses that can't have 100% masks in an indoor environment. Add movie theaters to the list.
From the Sun Herald
"The state announced an additional 18 deaths Saturday, bringing the three-day total to 58.
Hospitalization numbers also set new records on Thursday with 855 patients with confirmed cases in hospitals. There were another 262 with suspected cases, bringing the total in hospitals to 1,117.
The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care set a new high mark at 245. The total of patients requiring ventilators dropped seven to 125 in Thursday’s numbers.
There have been 39,797 cases and 1,308 deaths in Mississippi"
In other words.....18 people tested positive for covid while in the morgue and cause of death could be changed
Don't see where it said why the count was changed. Pure speculation on your part.
Florida currently has 9,114 hospitalized with Covid! Proportionately you are close to being in as bad a shape as Florida (7x population of Mississippi) in about a week.
ALL states are delayed in recording deaths. In Florida they reported 400 deaths the last 3 days but the dates of death for those people only include 104 for July 13-15th. The other 296 relate to earlier days in July and probably some in June. They do not include the deaths until the paperwork is in from the hospitals etc.,and verified. In many cases this takes 5-10 days and in some cases 2-3 weeks. That's why deaths are under-reported to date even for "confirmed cases".
Hence the need for refrigerator trucks to await confirmation from a Medical Examiner.
That post wasn't intended to be taken seriously.....
Well then tee hee
Broke what law? He said the person had Covid and died with it.
That’s the trick isn’t it.
He didn’t say they lied about the person having Covid.
Good news: test rate seems to be plateauing. Emphasis on seems.
bad news: inching back closer to 1k deaths per day
Wow... Gone all day, 75 posts on this thread.
Relative said they were stretched thin already at his hospital.
My comment about "widespread", I was saying I didn't think the miscounted info was widespread..
Update from AZ. The seven day average of new cases has been going down recently, now at 3,135 compared to the high of 3,844 on July 6th. Percent positive is still high, around 23 percent today I believe. The currently hospitalized seems to be plateauing though, even going down the last two days. New deaths are still increasing, which makes sense given the lag between cases and deaths.
Gov Ducey allowed counties and cities to set their own requirements as far as masks goes a couple weeks ago. Where I live it is required and almost everyone wears them now, but before it was maybe 50/50 at best. Seeing the cases potentially trend downward right now makes me optimistic about the results that wearing masks is having.
Awesome afternoon in Dallas, TX.....
Just announced that school and all activities are delayed until Sept 8th. My daughter is crying because it's her senior year......
My son is on his way home from football because.......no more football.
We had just had a safety meeting at our school....working out plans to restart school before this announcement.
We had 21 physician parents at the meeting with great info. A couple of the docs are very highly respected and well known.
Great info. Learned a lot.
- Confirmed covid is highly contagious.
- said reporting of positive tests was probably a little inconsistent......but the reality is there really are a lot of positive cases right now.
- most interesting thing that all 20 docs agreed on........people can certainly die from Covid.....but it is not really that deadly. Every death ......that can be classified as a covid death......is.
In other words......if a person tests positive for covid......regardless how they die.....its ruled a covid death. AND YES..... IT'S BECAUSE OF FUNDING....AND IT'S NOT ILLEGAL.
That's the problem.......and they all said it's fairly common knowledge.
So..... I know there are a few very knowledgeable covid experts on here......my question......how do you not know that reporting deaths this way is common practice? And why were you claiming that financial incentives were not an issue? When they clearly are.
What is the real reason for saying that isn't the case...... when it absolutely is
There are also a number of investigations on going about false covid claims.....claims where cause of death was ruled covid..... but patient never tested positive ......this has been especially prevalent with the homeless and people without family. This is highly illegal and is being investigated.... though this probably doesn't account for many of the deaths.
This whole covid thing is absolute bull**** and those that are really upset about it don't know what to do.
GATA, @texdawg !!!
