Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
...and I hope we all get some extra gifts on January 2nd and 4th 😉
Well....I sure was a cocky know it all at Christmas today assuring my family that Evans, Ringo and Washington were all Dawgs.....
Unfortunately I didn't give @SoFL_Dawg any of the credit although I was basing it entirely on his Intel.
I have complete confidence in your info soflow......but my family will probably never listen to me again concerning Georgia football if you're wrong.
Hopefully the info won’t disappoint. We’ll see in a few days.
It won't....you got this
I am not uncertain.
I want T Edwards if Hankton is moving on. Guy seems really connected with all the big time receivers in the south east.
Alright @JeffSentell and @DawgNationDaily Christmas is over. Time to stop milking this thing for all it’s worth. Tighten up boys we got a lot to talk about!!!!
Go Dawgs!!!
Due to more archaic NCAA rules he can’t coach at UGA for a couple of years since he has privately coached current players. One of the members shared this in the Hankton thread earlier
"Archaic" doesn't make it bad. Likely a very good rule, with no realistic adverse implications. For example, colleges know that a HS coach cannot expect a job if they sway a player its way. Takes some of the "eww" out of recruiting.
Isn't it odd that one team has 3 each 5 ⭐️ that have delayed their announcement? Is this happenstance or for some purpose by the Kirbs?
(Previously embedded in my Kirbi et Orbi OP, and neglected)
The rule only applies to being hired in a non-coaching position. TE would be an on-field coach if replacing Hankton so would be fine.
11.4.4 Individual Associated with a Prospective Student-Athlete -- Bowl Subdivision Football. [FBS] In bowl subdivision football, during a two-year period before a prospective student-athlete's anticipated enrollment and a two-year period after the prospective student-athlete's actual enrollment, an institution shall not employ (either on a salaried or volunteer basis) or enter into a contract for future employment with an individual associated with the prospective student-athlete in any athletics department noncoaching staff position or in a strength and conditioning staff position. (Adopted: 4/26/17 a contract signed before 1/18/17 may be honored.)
It’s a “shotgun rule” that blasts everything around it when it was meant to kill one bird. Let’s say Kirby is legitimately impressed with a High School coach and wants to hire him a year after recruiting a kid there. It’s meant to stop people from being given jobs to influence recruits, I get it. Typical to modern society though rather than appropriate punishment for offenders we pass another rule . It’s what’s wrong with things as small as officiating, try to referee with thousands of rules to keep up with ( part time btw). Or things as large as the legal system.
Thank you for the clarification
One needs to fashion a rule that is isolated to a given problem, eh? How is one to know the motivation of the hirer or the hiree? Easy to say these are too complex when humans are complex and devious and deceptive (and other d words). I guess that the 2 year wait versus 3 or more years was a means to ease the adverse impact on an innocent situation.
