Your understanding of Duck Dynasty is off. The old man started selling duck calls a long time ago. They’ve been in the duck hunting business for longer than most on this forum have been alive. They were putting out the most amazing duck hunting videos back in the mid-90s anyone had ever seen. They all had the same beards then, too. That was where the reality show originated. They were the Duck Commanders, if I remember correctly - and they literally commanded the ducks to do as they pleased.

The problem with reality shows is they run out of interesting material and have to keep people entertained. I wish Duck Dynasty would have just focused on killing ducks. I would have been just as entertained, but the average joe wouldn’t have been interested. .

Yup bankwalker bro, they haven been around a minute. I used to watch their videos when I was younger before duck dynasty became cool outside of the duck hunting community

Started watching it lastnight. They have some serious talent for a juco but how in the world do they lose? I'm only on the 3rd episode so they're 1-1 right now but I know they lose like 8 or 9 straight.

Yes they did. My point was many of them are college educated and the person you see on TV is a role they are playing.

    Not them.

I’m not not sure I’m going to watch season 4. That show is super depressing at times.

Has anybody seen the latest season of last chance u. Jermaine really wasn’t featured but he should’ve been seeing that he was the no1 juco player in the nation at the time. I bet he so glad to be in a better environment around Great people

Watching now, because of Jermaine. Filming of his commitment video is episode 3 or 4.

SPOILER ALERT - if you haven't finished season 4.

Coach Brown got the axe, basically for calling himself the team manager's "personal Hitler". The lad was a German exchange student. It's hard to imagine a team with that amount of talent losing all games but one, but he's hard for coaches and players alike to deal with. Too volatile to be a HC IMHO.

Also the President and Athletic director have both resigned...

At some point in the series, it was either the president or AD who essentially said that "Intentions were more important than actions"....which I thought was a particularly misguided (but apropos) statement for this entire series. Very clear to me that what these players (and coaches, including HC Brown) needed was "the adult in the room." He never showed up.

For a number of reasons, I find this whole series rather sad and depressing.

The new season of Last Chance U is easily it’s best to me. You can tell that Coach Beam loves his players, and that they love him back.

The stories are powerful, and season 5 is a great example of how football can change, and influence lives for the better.

I’m only a couple episodes in but I agree, they are following a coach that is a good person who cares about his guys. Very refreshing to see in a series that has historically had some mean SOB coaches.

I just started it last night and watched the first episode. My wife even made a comment like "they all cuss like sailors but he's so much nicer than the other head coaches"
