Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I would keep Ozzie batting second as long as he’s having the kind of at-bats he’s had lately. His pitch selection has improved dramatically and him and Acuna seem to feed off each other. If Duvall continues his downward slide, I would consider playing Charlie in left field when Dansby returns , but I would hate not having his bat coming off the bench. It’s a shame that McCann isn’t able to play more often, I hate seeing Flowers hitting or behind the plate. Riley was put on the IL today with a sore knee, so he won’t be available for at least 10 days.
Came here to let everyone know Mets are one game out of a wild card. Remember how a couple weeks ago when we got Stroman there was no way we would make it? Too many teams to jump?
its on
They are 13-1 over their last 14 games. They might end up being our toughest challenge.
We will smash The Metropolitans like fresh poop through a tennis racket.
I think it’s safe to say if we are pitching to our potential, everyone else will want none of the Mets
Not a ton of confidence in that analogy
Degrom and Stroman are their only starters who scare anybody. The Braves have the better offense overall and even a better team ERA to this point. Stroman might tilt pitching slightly in The Mets' favor but it's a bit skewed to look at a team on a roll and draw too many conclusions from a 14 game span.
Their rotation is much better than ours, and I know I wouldn’t want to see them in the playoffs. Degrom Thor Wheeler and Stroman are all top of the rotation type guys when healthy.
key phrase...”up to potential”
ERAs don't support the idea that their rotation is much better than ours.
ERA is a flawed stat. Also, if we come in with a 9.00 ERA for the season but shut people down in the playoffs it won't really matter. I would not want to play the mets in the postseason
I'm not worried about The Mets. Also ERA is the best gauge of a starting pitcher, other than in some short term situations. You either give up runs or you don't.
I mean if we take soroka out of the equation, would you pick any of the Braves starters over any of their top 4? Wheeler is a legit stud when he is healthy, he just has had issues with health. Same with syndeguard who isn’t what we hoped he may be in 2016, but still a legitimate #2 type guy with upside to dominate if he clicks. Stroman is pretty similar to kuechel, both being big time ground ball guys.
The Braves are a better team than they are, but I’m not going to say our starters are on the Mets level.
and you didn't even mention our best pitcher
Haha yeah degrom need not be argued for, he is a true ace. I love soroka but no way I take soroka over degrom if I’m picking teams for a playoff series.
