Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I'm neutral on him. Love the speed though. I mean, if he is faster than Mecole, can eventually run great routes and catch the ball, he will be an incredible weapon.
Gotcha. To that point, I didn’t see Brinson coming and had no clue on Ricks until @JeffSentell dropped his intel which prompted discovery from my dude. Now everyone knows we’re getting an OV but doesn’t seem that industry has caught up with how serious this one is. Reminiscent of Dean and Webb last year, industry was a bit behind on those as well. I do believe it’s that serious.
Agree.
But I like when Kirby and staff go hard after a particular 3*. I think they are good talent evaluators and seem to have a high hit ratio with some lower rated guys.
Obviously want them to continue to recruit in top 200 area but like it when they find someone they think could be special and they go for it.
Yes sir. I do also definitely believe in the power of prayer. 🙏
Not just emojis either.
Right. I don't pretend to be a talent evaluator. I mean, I can watch a guy play and see whether he's good or not. I've played enough and watched enough football to have a decent eye for it. Especially at WR and DB as those are the positions I played.
As for Wren, he's definitely good with the ball in his hands (based on the film I've seen), the question is, and I think we've all discussed this, is can he run routes and catch the ball? And even as small as he is, Kirby will require him to block downfield. Since he doesn't run many routes, catch many balls nor rarely has to block downfield, he's definitely going to be a project. And if he puts all together, he's going to be a challenge for opposing defenses.
I think the surprise is yet to come. For now I am just going to sit back and watch, sip on some whisky and go with the Flowe.
No Zachary Evans?
I agree with @texdawg re: a staff focusing a specific player for their system...Have to think that they have a specific plan for how Wren would be used.
Just from last game - Cook was plenty fast on his TD run vs Vanderbilt; but could you imagine running that same play from your 30 with Wren. No catching him once he turns that corner.
His last sentence of the main paragraph address the RB and TEs, he just didn't name them. But I'm guessing he thinks Evans, Washington, and Johnson.
Theo Johnson just impresses me. He lopes (quite quickly) like a gazelle. So big. I guess he's not as advanced as some other TE candidates, but he's so big and so athletic...He's the #1 guy for TE on my wish list.
Barely of topic, but squarely on point!
That said, and hopefully I will not be crucified if this has been asked/answered already...
If DW and TJ were to both come on down, would both DW and TJ be likely RS candidates, or would TJ have a chance to see offensive snaps straight away?
These guys would both play right away. Washington is giving his college choice three years and then .....💨
Wait till you hear about the 2021 and 2022 TE crop, too.
With Woerner and Wolf moving on after this season, both will have a chance to compete with Fitpatrick, Goede, and Seither to be in the top 3 of TEs. Believe 3 TEs played this past game, and could see them potentially on STs.
Just wait until you hear about 2023. Just sayin
