Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I'm torn on this one to a degree but I can't fault the young man for making the best decision for his future. This appears to be the best decision as he has nothing to gain aside from another season's worth of accolades. I think the issue at hand stems from the reality of modern college football. For most, college football is the vehicle through which an athlete can obtain a four-year degree along with a massive alumni network to take advantage of when the job market comes calling. However, for a few elite athletes, it is minor league football. It's the next step to a contract that will forever change the trajectory of the athlete's future as well as his family's if managed properly. I appreciate the old school views on this topic but love of the game only takes you so far. These guys are laying it on the line and grinding through the season to better their futures.
The older I get? The less I know. I understand that there are advocates for this out there, but I am not a fan.
Starting dt tyler shelvin and projected starting weakside De tk mcklendon also opting out for Lsu this season . This is in addition to Neil Farrel who opted out a few weeks ago. Gonna be tough for them to even get through the season at this rate. Weird year
This tweet didn't age well.
I also went ahead and crossed out Tyler Shelvin. This team looks like the Bulls after the 1998 season.
Wow. Talk about going from about as high as you could get last year to this. Has to be rough to be a tiger right now. Wonder if this helps us with Foreman and Smith at all. So far UGA players appear locked in, unified, and ready to roll.
if Georgia won it all one year, i'd be riding so high the next year it would all be gravy. at least that's what I tell mysefl
Ha, that's probably true! :)
Ur wrong again Tex.
If u don’t understand the difference between life changing money and being super competitive then u haven’t been poor before or are just not very bright. That’s once in a lifetime money. Top 1 percent money. He would be a fool to let “competitiveness” ruin that opportunity. Smart decision young man.
how is this killing the sport. Don’t think LSU will lose one fan over his decision. Downvote for u.
I guess you're just smarter than me.
Coach O losing his sheen?
