I'm just hoping Folty wasn't a flash in the pan. I think sending him to Gwinnett with instructions to put aside any thoughts of getting back to Atlanta, relax and make pitches might be in everybody's interest.

Good grief, Snit has to figure a way to find some consistency out of the pen

Where would we be without Swarzak?

Now Jackson can’t throw a strike.  Driving me nuts.

Braves need 1, maybe 2 starters and at least 3 relievers before the trading deadline.

Since May 22, the day they got Swarzack, the pen leads the majors in ERA. If they could bring in a reliable arm for the 9th I like their chances to go a lot further in the postseason this year.

After complaining about "Faulty" I must admire the grit of the Braves' lineup. I don't know how many times they can keep scoring runs late in games, but I sure hope it occurs often enough to keep us in first place.

Swanson seems a truly different player this year. Freddie is even better than...Freddie. The other lads are doing quite well too.

I would love to see us give some of the younger guys a spot start or two. We’re going to need them in August and September, because there’s no reason for us to have Soroka and Fried start the whole season. They’ll need some time off down the stretch.
    Wright
    Wilson
    Anderson
    Newk
I think in order for us to go deep into the postseason, those guys will have to make 8-10 big league starts this year. Maybe more. If Folty and or Gausman can figure something out, we’ll welcome them with open arms (literally).

Agree with @UWGDawg we need to see what some of these young arms can do in the majors. At some point we’re going to have to decide who we want to keep and who we want to use as trade bait to get some relievers. This team is playing too good not to improve our late game pitching.

Braves called up Sobotka to take Folty’s spot on roster, really need him and Minter to get their control problems figured out.

Somebody in Braves' management must have read my post from last night where I called for Folty to get sent down.

If he was still in his early 20s it would be less concerning, but he'll be 28 by spring training next year. If he isn't headed in the right direction by then he might not make the roster.

He got his arm strength back, but his slider movement is still nowhere near where it needs to be, and it can be more than just he's afraid of using his old mechanics (because it might make his bone spurs flare up), the new ball may have him messed up too. So this needed to happen and they finally got to a point where they could.

Ultimately the line for him is too fine, and frankly his stuff outside of a hot and effectively wild fastball in 2018, and the slider from the same time, was a bit overrated. He's not really a guy that if his A1 stuff is not working, that can diversify his pitches and just "pitch" (this has been what he's tried to do as a workaround to lesser stuff, but the thing is, this stuff isn't nearly as good), even if he had the mentality of a king.

While Folty's down there, I hope works on his swing, Maybe the worst I've ever seen.

I know we’ve all given the bullpen crap this year, but if we had a shutdown closer, it would actually be a very productive pen. That’s why I think Kimbrell was more important to get that Keuchel.

Some of the greatest pitchers in history have been fastball/slider specialist. If those are your pitches though, they'd better be very, very good.

I think they might only use DH's in the minors.

    Any word on Soroka’s injury?
