Kirby says every week that the best will play... So what’s that tell ya??? Godwin clearly isn’t the best receiver on the team, hell not even top 4. This isn’t peewee league, & your mama can’t do anything about it.

Terry may well be the best on the team, but there are others in the running.

Agreed, WCDawg. A healthy Terry Godwin probably is our most complete wide receiver, but that still wouldn't necessarily result in the QB throwing him the ball more than anyone else.

This stuff goes on at Bama and O$U as well...when you're recruiting 4 and 5 star guys there's a whole lot of ego and outside influence involved. Comes with the territory when you recruit like CKS and CNS. I wouldn't take too much from it. TG5 is a DGD and he'll do what he has to do and he'll have success at the next level...but a little advice young man, when you get to The League listen to your agent and your coaches, not your mama.

I bet it happens less at OSU and Bama these days though. The culture has already been established. Everyone knows what the deal is. We seem to still be in the shift, probably at the tail end of the shift.

It has been raging at both schools. Just look around at the guys who have left or are leaving OSU and UA. It will probably get a lot worse at UGA. The problem is that talented players want to play. Their parents want them to play, too.

Godwin’s been a DGD. His injuries early in the season, the depth we have at WR, and Kirby’s reluctance to pass and run up the score when the game is in hand, have all contributed to our WR’s having stats that are less impressive than they could be. His mother complaining on social media isn’t going to help him. Hopefully his talent will be recognized by NFL scouts and he will still get drafted and get a good contract, which seems to be her complaint.

Found this over on the 247 forum. Davin Bellamy’s mom also tweeted something out. There was also a tweet by Terry himself and his mom replied saying the coaches will he exposed soon enough.

    Weird?

Davin Bellamy & his mom should be more than thankful for Kirby coming to UGA getting the most out of him. Before Kirby he wasn't giving it his all & that would have been ok in the Richt days being good but not great but this coaching staff wasn't having any of that. We still have an 18% left on this team of the Richt mindset but it's almost gone (Thank God). These parents love their kids & that's great but they are not coaches & this staff is taking UGA to another level with an exceptional mindset when it comes to building a winning program.

Been going on for a while, subtle tweets throughout the season. This one wasn’t so subtle. Bottom line is that Godwin is a talented receiver and his injuries opened up the door for Holloman who has been productive in his own right and has taken away some of Godwin’s targets.

Wish it wasnt a thing before SECCG.

Is Terry upset or is it just his mom overreacting?

Ms. Bellamy’s post makes it sound likes this is about more than just lack of passes thrown his way. Her post seems to reference a specific incident with character assassination.

Terry is great. One of my favorite players. His mom... she's very nice, but she doesn't handle anyone stepping into Terry's spotlight very well. This isn't the first time I've seen this either.

More than likely she just suffers from a reduced vocabulary.
